For the sake of creaking "skinned" sound sets, I'm curious which type would be the best place to use a quirkier sound. Since "normal" is used all the time, it'd have to replace either the whistle sound or the "finish" sound, and some authors use whistles all the time, and some use finish all the time.... I'm wondering which is more common overall.

I find that with whistles, the tendancy is to use them in clusters.
I like whistles. Whistles are my handclaps of Stepmania. But I don't want to use them too often, it'll sound stupid and lose meaning. So I use finishes as well. I like whistles more though.
