Extreme Slowdown during startup [Resolved in b72]

Whenever I start up Osu, the music starts playing right away, but my computer slows down to a halt, one time to the point of me having to do a hard power down, until the program's window actually pops up. Once the game is up and running, everything is fine. I have a feeling it might be a problem caused by my somewhat uncommon soundcard, an Audigy 2 ZS in my PC-MIA slot(My comp is a laptop). Any way to disable music playing on the main menu to hopefully temporarily fix this? It's probably not free space problems on my HD(I have about 15 GB free space left) or RAM (2 512 MB sticks), so since it's a sound problem, my sound card is the most likely culprit, IMO.

edit: It normally starts up w/out a hitch for a while after this occurs, however, after a while it'll come back.

Thanks for the bug report. I will look into this and hopefully have a fix up tonight.

Out of interest - if you wait and do nothing while osu! is starting, does this still occur? One of the private testers had this happen if they swapped to another window while osu! was starting.

Aha! That's exactly what's causing it. I guess I just didn't notice since it was 11PM and I'm normally tabbing between 2 or 3 open windows.

That's a good temporary fix :). Will definitely get this sorted for next version.

I feel your pain, I mistakenly click to something else while it's loading.
My regular saying for these situations "Not enough cores" damn old CPU!

This has been resolved and will be in the build later tonight (~5h from now).
