[resolved] Osu Beatmap downloading extremely slow

Problem Details: Downloading beatmaps are extremely and utterly slow, SO slow that they download at 30 k/b for me. Now My internet connect it perfectly fine I can download anything anywhere else 5-10 mb/s no problem but only here and OsuDirect does the speed dip insanely low where it takes me 5mins to download like a 10mb song?
This is very very very frustrating. I've tried different browsers, IE and Chrome and Firefox all does the same thing.

Are you getting the same speeds on every single map you try to download?

Are you able to download maps using a mirror website like this: http://osusearch.com/

Have you tried cancelling the dl and restarting it? that usually works for me.

Your traceroute result indicates a potential network issue. There's no packet loss, though. Considering you are in the US, the increased latency might be normal.

Can you download beatmaps in normal speed from mirror sites such as bloodcat and osu.uu.gl?

Я захожу на сайт чтобы скачать карту, но она просто не качается и все. Грузить и выдает ошибку, где даются варианты закрыть сайт или перезагрузить страницу. Скачать не могу. Помогите мне пожалуйста. Даже при том что я пробовал скачать карты с других браузеров толку ноль. Везде одно и тоже грузить сайт и все. При перезагрузке тоже самое.

Bloodcat is also slow for me

The OP was using the 5GHz Wi-Fi band, switching to the 2.4GHz signal resolved the issue.

When using Wi-Fi one should make sure that a non-crowded channel is set, as the router setup will automatically default the channel to auto.

For the 2.4GHz band use channels 1, 6 and 11, test connectivity and speed on any three of those channels and you shouldn't encounter any other problems.

Hey just came across this post cause Im having download speeds at 4kb-10kbps
So far I've managed to fix it by downloading from another site. (http://bloodcat.com/osu/?q=&c=b&s=&m=&g=&l=) or (http://bloodcat.com/osu)
And my download speed went to 4kbps to more than a hundred.
It is not from your internet that makes it slow but it depends on the servers of osu! itself.
Another factor that can make the download slow is using chrome. From what I experienced chrome is really slow at downloading compared to firefox but then again this is from my experience.

So yea more like that's it.

On the OG Beatmap site my download speed is always 1/mb then one day my download speed goes down below 10 kb/s like what happend. Ive done everything .. Like resetting my Router changing values, Resetting all my Networks, And re installing all my network drivers still the same..

But on bloodcat my Download speed was fine, BTW this is not just on Osu Beatmaps some sites that i go on and download have the same affect. Except Steam which is still fine at least.
And i guarantee it is not my Internet speed that is just slow. I have re run Many times on Speedtest.net And the results was just fine.

If anyone knows how to fix this it would be grateful.
As a last resort i will Reset my computer and see how it goes.

If im going to reset my computer i have to wait 3 days, According to the estimation of the download speed.

Maybe its a ph/sea server thing thats been happening based on recent respondents

maybe it tried to connect to some far server and it bugged and it made it stay there
because the problem is only to some so it cant be a bug from the server so must be the client?
but what do i know im not a CS guy just a guy guessing

Downloading in https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmaps/packs is a thing, it's faster cuz you're downloading a .rar/.zip file instead of an .osz file

If you have the same beatmaps from that pack it's fine, find an another one

If you're downloading maps that aren't loved/ranked lol idk

If you have running discord, this could be the problem, i stopped discord and my downloadspeed of osu maps was fixed.

I still have the problem with the downloadspeed... normally I have a download of 7 mb/s but on only osu maps (direct and normal) I have less then 100 kb/s and it sucks... I tried 3 party sites like http://osusearch.com/ but it didnt work either....

Hey I’m having the same problem, although downloading from bloodcat solves the problem it’s still too much trouble to search for the song name and creator while in multiplayer plus I’m a supporter so I would like to use my osu!direct... but it’s rly slow, it’s been slow for like almost 4 months now, has anyone tried something like a vpn ? It’s probably the servers but it used to be fine before I dunno why it’s fucking up now..

Hi. I'm having the same problem. Multiplayer is impossible for me since the problem started. Beatmap downloads were always a bit slow but still fast enough for multiplayer. Now beatmap downloads at 100 kbps or less. Downloading from bloodcat solves it still makes multiplayer impossible for me since if have to search for it.

I'm having this issue- no mirror sites are working and even mediafire beatmap packs are downloading slow. I'm on ethernet, and our internet downloads from other sources at 5mb/s. I've just noticed it recently and I've never had issues with it before.
