What I'm talking about is raising the AR when you're like me and not great with high bpm, high density maps. A great example is the huge difference between my 2 plays on https://osu.ppy.sh/b/279607&m=0 [Another]
This might entirely be up to the player, but I have to ask anyway. If I raise the AR to 9.5, I can get a score I'm happy with on a map of this bpm, but if it stays at 9 then I honestly struggle to maintain any combo or ^90% accuracy, its been like this since I've discovered this map. Having trouble reading it is nothing new, even when I am comfortable with AR9. At AR 9.5 I can get 97% accuracy and a 300+ combo and the map feels really fun to play, but that's only because I suck at reading AR9 with 220 bpm.
In your opinion, does raising the AR on maps like this, or really any map over 220 bpm lower the difficulty by a significant margin? This might be entirely subjective, hence the (opinions) in the title, by raising the AR to 9.5 on this map how much easier or harder does it become? I understand that most of the people that will comment could or already have FCed this map, but trying to look at it from a player of lower skills' perspective how much does it change?
Also I fucked myself and am stuck being unable to read AR9 ATM, I'll get back into eventually.
I get myself stuck in a purgatory like situation. I can't slow myself down to play maps at AR9 that I can actually FC in the 4.3-4.9 range but also can't FC maps that are higher AR in the 5.1-5.7 range because I lack the skill and consistency to do it yet.
So trying to get a feel for what I can find comfortable to play is my goal. And England is my city.
