RIP Steve..... His presentations were amazing, his ideas boggled the imagination. The greatest person of 21th century died.

Well that's a bit of an exaggeration, isn't it?

All the things I've used 'made by Apple' is Safari, cool browser.

RIP

Considering how shortly ago he stepped down, his timing was so wonderful since he didn't leave anything unstable for his company.

Steve Jobs was not some CEO, he was a human being. Bring some respect, you moron.

Last but not least, this is GD. Go back to Off-topic or#osu if you really want to troll someone.

OMG it really eats my heart out;><;
RIP JOBS.

eh, I don't think it was that coincidental. He'd been fighting his cancer for a while, it might have just been the inevitable thing to do for him to step down. Especially since his health had been declining since like last year or earlier this year if I remember right.

RIP. He was one of the greatest man in America.

Didn't see this coming, we just talked about him earlier at school without knowing the news.

RIP Steve.

ok so you would make threads and post tribute material about any other human being who has died? or does it have to be some 60ish year old billionaire who's best contribution to this world was designing overpriced products for you to pay respect

He's not just a "60ish year old billionaire who's best contribution to this world was designing overpriced products", Steve Jobs was an innovator in the PC world.
Without him, Windows (which was stolen by Gates) wouldn't have been made.
Computers would probably be unavailable for everyone.
You probably won't be posting here.

Don't desecrate a dead man, especially someone who has contributed a lot to technology.
RIP Steve Jobs.

Rest in peace.

Also: Troll throws bait
Someone retorts with insults
Troll will respond.

Rule of thumb for those types, best to just be very polite or outright ignore.

I'm not really a big fan of Apple but their new stuff just made me start liking it.

RIP Steve.

That is gibberish. If you don't have an argument that makes sense, then why don't you shut up.

Good job, and RIP.

I don't care about his inventions, a person just died and I came here just for saying:

Yeah, nothing is more hip and trendy than grieving. Look, I get it; lots of people are dying even now and we're not making threads for them. Those people have funerals that their loved ones attend to. But, you know, it's news when a celebrity or other media figure dies because their contributions to society and media are relevant to the average person. It's also news when a natural disaster claims lives for the same reason.

Human life is precious to me. You may think it insincere of people to post in a thread like this, but have a shred of respect and shut up. It's obvious that you don't value Steve Jobs' life or his work, but there's no use arguing about how the rest of us should be feeling about this.

Did a double take when I noticed this on Google's front page. I may not be a fan of Apple's current products, but they sure as hell deserve most of the credit for defining the personal computer as we know it today.

Millions of people, obviously.

On the other hand, no one gives a "fkn shit" about you. Goodbye.

Without him, I wouldn't have tried to play Taiko on my iTouch. I am extremely sad to hear it, I thought this day could be a good one until when I opened osu!.

Rest in peace, Jobs.

It is pretty saddening how some people can't show proper respect to someone who's died.
Especially the ones who are ignorant towards the ones they are pissing on.

Glad to see some intelligent people who *don't* use Apple products know where their computer origins are from.

This isn't for anyone specifically, but I'm going to try to quell the impending flames a bit.

Just gonna point out that people die all the time. Thousands every day. How come we're not making a fuss about these other folks?

Jobs may have touched your life in some meaningful way, and that's great, you're welcome to pay your respects however you like. But that doesn't mean he's touched everyone else's life in the same meaningful way, and you've got no right to look down on people one way or another for that.

The people who are being disrespectful (apart from the ones pushing their beliefs on others) are just looking for attention. They get their jollies every time they succeed in bringing you down to their level. So smarten up.
Ephemeral
to be fair, Jobs probably did more with his life than most of us will ever do if given double or maybe triple the time he had.

i guess that makes some people jealous

Perhaps we have no notice about these said people. Have you thought about that? I'll pay my respects to a death I see, or a death I hear about.

There should be a mutual respect to all deaths respectively, and some people just cannot show that, is what I was getting at.

There are things called obituaries. News sites, as well. I don't recall seeing anyone on osu! talk about Jack Layton's recent passing, come to think of it, but I definitely caught word of that through Twitter.

But yes, there are those who are brought to greater attention than others, so there's that. A testament to the impact they've had on the mass population.

It always seems odd to me that we always pay our respects and honour someone after they've passed on. The grass is always greener.

R.I.P JOBS, you were the symbol of innovation !

I don't really own many Apple products (mainly because of my budget being way too insufficient to buy most of their products :P ), but the death of Steve Jobs left me upset for the remainder of the week since his death has been announced on Wednesday the 5th.

Also, I had to read multiple biographies about him for a Business project about Entrepreneurs (I was given the task to research more about Steve Jobs), and his life has been pretty tough for him, especially how he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.

The fact that he died at such a young age just really bums me out. It wasn't even a natural death due to old age; it was due to respiratory arrest (or that's what MSNBC says anyway).

I still didn't get the time to go to an Apple Store and post one of those "Thank You, Steve Jobs" notes on the store window, as a lot of the Apple stores seemed to have been doing since Wednesday.. hope it's not too late. ><
