hi m4m
aesthetics mod
00:52:820 (1,2) - make it overlap more, to make it similar to the other objects such as 00:58:306 (1,2) - and 01:05:163 (4,5) -
01:16:134 (4,5,6) - maybe make it so the rotation between these objects is a bit more even. 4->5 seems like 60 degrees but 5->6 seems rotated almost 140 degrees or so
01:22:992 (1,2) - make these neater, so theyre more parallel
01:31:220 (1,2,3,4) - spacing is a bit uneven
01:34:649 (3,4,1) - also kind of unevenly spaced, maybe move 4 down a little bit
01:36:363 (4) - move up a bit, maybe
01:37:735 (4) - move down slightly to blanket 01:36:706 (1) - better
01:50:077 (8) - flip horizontally, maybe, so that it will match 01:49:049 (5) -
02:01:734 (3) - it seems weird for this to be an angular slider when all the other sliders in the combo are curved
02:02:077 (6,7,8) - uneven spacing
02:07:906 (8) - shouldnt this be a long slider, since it's a high pitched note? the other high pitched notes so far have been expressed with a longer slider
02:09:277 (9) - nice looking slider, maybe you should use it more often o:
02:12:363 (1) - curve this slider more to fit the notes before it?
02:14:934 (10,11) - curve these notes more to fit the slider after it?
02:27:106 (9) - this seems a bit close to 02:26:592 (4,5,6,7,8) - giving those patterns some room to breathe would be nice
02:35:849 (2) - curve this so it matches 02:36:020 (3) -
02:48:020 (1) - make this a straight slider maybe
02:59:249 (2) - move this to the left a bit to smooth the curve through the overall pattern
03:25:220 (2,4) - reposition these notes so they match 03:22:477 (2,3,4,5) -
03:47:677 (3) - move this to the left to form a straight line with 03:47:506 (2) - and forms a triangle with 03:46:992 (1,2,3) -
04:31:049 (2,3) - move these out so they're not so close to 04:31:392 (4) -
04:36:192 (1,3,5) - these three are touching it kind of looks unpleasant, either move them further apart or closer
also, a general word about aesthetics (my opnion, take it or leave it):
patterns like 02:16:992 (4,5,6,7,8) - or 02:22:991 (7,8,9,10,1) - or 02:12:192 (10,11,1) - are dangerous because they can look ugly or flimsy very easily. if the ending slider continues in the same direction as the notes it has to continue in EXACTLY the same direction. even a few degrees off can make it look ugly. for example 03:16:992 (2,3) - i could tell instantly that this wasn't centered exactly, even without measuring. 03:19:992 (4,5) - stuff like this is much better, looks much nicer, and you don't have to be so exact with the placement. 02:17:677 (10,11,1) - this too; i can tell immediately that this isn't perfectly straight, and it doesnt look nice. if you don't keep super consistent with the usage, it prevents your map from looking as clean as it can be.
that's why your second kiai looks much cleaner than your first kiai (in my opinion), because it uses more sliders and only uses streams once in a while, and those streams are all consistent and clean.
some other things that i think detract from the map's aesthetic cohesiveness:
03:14:763 (6) - this almost right angle slider, right angle sliders look weird unless you use them all the time, or it's in a tsubaki-esque right angles pattern
also, occasoinally you'll throw in a weird slider like this one 02:40:820 (9) - . it looks cool, but you only use it once and the place you use it at isn't very special. not a big deal, since you use it well, but still kind of strange. i think it would be better if you picked one slider, like this one 02:09:277 (9) - and peppered it throughout your map, would give it a bit more of an identity
03:48:877 (4) - obtuse-angled sliders in general might make your map look kind of messy, especially if you use them often in conjunction with regular curved sliders (02:58:992 (1,2,3) - ), and use them often as blankets and such.
anyway, very nice and fun map, good luck!
