Okay, first of all, this was NOT what I expected when you told me to M4M.

I'd like you to ask yourself "What does the map feel like. Is the way I map it, deserved, or not?"
You probably did, but this is one of the quirks I use at the beginning of a mod to further lead into several things, e.g.
  • Open AI mod
  • Hitsounds
  • Set good timing points

I won't really go into timing, since I can't really do it, but you might as well delete the second timing point with the same bpm.
First of all, those are a lot of streams. You don't need to hit every note, you just need to convey the general feeling, or even just the main notes within a song. 03:35:244 (2) - I could imagine this here being a slider, then those gathered sliders, then a slider, then those gathered sliders, kind of like koukou no sousei https://osu.ppy.sh/b/96763 , just a little bit different. Besides, they all are 1/3, and not 1/4 or 1/8

01:26:312 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - To me it sounds like they are on the red ticks only, not on the blue ticks
01:34:402 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4) - Here too. They are distinct from each other. maybe you should map it that way.
To be honest, I don't really know what to do with this map. I'm not saying it's shitty or anything similar, but I find it hard to recognize the music within. Try mapping without hitsounds and at a slower speed. The speed really is insanely high, and you are bound to miss a lot.

Just my own opinion. Pls don't give kudosu. (Because if you gave me, I'd feel guilt at not modding every single piece of your map, totaling to a stupefying amount of HL, when it all could resolve itself)

GL for the future, and maybe watch pishifats videos if you haven't already.

  1. Alright, firstly, the song came from the Touhou music, Reach for the Moon, Immortal Smoke. With that, be sure to add "東方 Project" in the source. Also, add "smoke" in the tags for the title of the original music, no need to repeat words already used in both titles.
  2. Make sure to also add "fujiwara no mokou" and "touhou" in the tags.





Most of my points here are just minor stuff, don't worry xd

  1. 00:07:861 (1,1) - Flow between these two isn't really bad, but it provides an awkward play of objects, imo.
  2. 00:07:861 (1,1) - NCs on these two sliders isn't really needed. 00:08:635 (1) - This is reasonable for me since imo it can create a countermeasure for confusion.
  3. 00:13:281 (1) - Shouldn't its speed be like in 00:00:893 (1) - , considering the similarity in sound?
  4. 00:17:926 (2) - Try putting this on (296,240) for aesthetic purposes. The way it is right now is a bit jarring for me.
  5. 00:22:092 (4,1) - Basing from what you did in 00:20:543 (4,1) - , those four should have identical spacings visually.

Heres my mod for you
  1. Check AI mod. Some objects aren't snapped probably due to changing between 1/4 and 1/6 timing. Intro has string sounds which are weird with timing since their sound starts a bit before the beat but objects should start on the white ticks where the sound has the most impact. At 00:31:704(1,2,3,4) you can see this clearly.
  2. 00:07:087 (1,2,1,2) SV seems a little too fast for the intensity of these notes
  3. 00:19:382 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) Use curve slider shape similar to the rest since there is no change in the song
  4. 00:52:590 - 01:02:018 The timing here is off. Use a beast snap divisor of 1/4 instead. There are groups of 6 objects when there are only 5 sounds so try using a playback rate of 25% and count the sounds instead of looking at the timeline and fitting objects into it
  5. 01:04:402 (3,4) Join these into a slider
  6. 01:26:312 (1,2,3,4) there seems to be some circles missing on the blue ticks
  7. 01:57:997 (9) Sounds are only on the white and red ticks so maybe make the slider longer 02:00:694 (9) also here, same thing
  8. 02:09:626 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) Replace circles with reverse sliders because the important sounds are on the red ticks followed by two less important sounds
  9. 02:29:683 Use sliders instead of these streams since they fit better and won't be the same as the streams before them
  10. 03:01:368 Keep the jumps in the same combo a consistent distance from each other and only increase the distance for the start of a NC
  11. 03:05:413 These objects can be spaced further apart
  12. 03:10:806 3 needs to be closer and 6 further away

  14. The rest of the song has the same timing patterns so check them again with these things in mind

Also, please note that when I was modding this you updated the map, so some points I say may have been fixed or changed. (I'm too lazy to recheck my points again especially a marathon map) :p

General
  1. Hitsounds needs fixing. Sadly, I'm not good at it, so try asking a for a hitsounding mod in the modding queue sub forum.
  2. The timing in the first part may sound correct. But I suggest you ask a timing expert to check it.
Extra
  1. 00:20:930 (1) - Why is the slider velocity here unchanged where the one around it changes? Perhaps you can make the sv slower since it's an NC and that the next part the sv is gradually decreasing.
  2. 00:53:447 (1,2,3) - I think it's better if you make parts like this the same spacing instead as they're the same thing. So a different spacing each time is a bit weird as there's no difference unless it's something like 00:57:447 (1,2,3,1,2,3) - in which the double has a distance of 3/6 beat to the lone circle.
  3. 00:58:151 (3,1,2,3,4,5) - Possible blanket here.
  4. 01:04:402 (3,4) - Perhaps make this as a 1/2 slider instead to emphasize the orchestra sound.
  5. 01:08:531 (1,2) - Remove NC and perhaps the same spacing as 01:07:857 (1,2,3,4,5) - since I think there's nothing different here than the one before.
  6. 01:10:301 (2,3) - This 3/4 spacing can be hard for players as it is mostly 1/2 spacing before. Perhaps you can make 01:10:301 (2) - as a 1/2 slider instead, making it easier as it's now just 1/4 distance to 01:10:553 (3,4) - .
  7. 01:12:660 (4,1) - Spacing here is suddenly big whereas 01:11:986 (4,1) - isn't that long. You should probably make the spacing shorter or the one before longer instead, as this one is a more to emphasizing a big difference in sound intensity.
  8. 01:12:829 (1,2,3,4) - The angles here are getting wider every circle while in the last two it isn't. The angles should be consistent in this type.
  9. 01:18:222 (5,1) - Same as before, this has a 3/4 spacing, making it having a possibility of players not recognizing it and think it's 1/2 instead. You can extend 01:18:222 (5) - to make the distance to be 1/2 by ending on the blue tick or 1/4 by ending on the white tick. Or, insert a circle at 01:18:559 - . Yes it's overmapped, but you have a reason for it.
  10. 01:22:267 (1,2,3,4) - This design could be better, perhaps you can make it the same as 01:11:480 (1,2,3,4) - .
  11. 01:23:278 (3,4) - Why is the spacing here suddenly bigger than before? I don't think it fits as there's no difference with the last one.
  12. 01:24:289 (5) - Instead of a repeating 1/4 slider, perhaps you can make it just a long slider with the same duration to emphasize the string instrument.
  13. 01:24:964 - to 01:36:087 - you're not really consistent with your idea. You made it a stream if it starts with a bell sound but 01:31:705 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - and 01:34:402 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - is a stream when there's no bell sound. Also, 01:29:683 (5,6,7,8) - should be repeating 1/4 slider as what you did for 01:26:312 (1,2,3,4,5) - . They sound quite the same, so making it different is a bit odd.
  14. 01:46:537 - What's up with the lack of sliders here?
  15. 01:46:537 (5,1,2,4) - Perhaps overlap these.

  25. 03:35:076 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - I don't think it's nice to downgrade the 1/6 stream to just sliders. Making all sliders makes this part lacking whereas it has a unique sound that doesn't show up again. The bpm is quite alright for it, and plus it's a 6*.
  26. 03:53:503 (4,1) - Too close in my opinion. Why don't you make it the same spacing as 03:53:390 (3,4) - as it's still a 1/3 gap.
  27. 04:19:570 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1) - For this part, why don’t you emphasize the guitar only instead, as the one right now, it's quite confusing what're trying to emphasize, like 04:22:604 (6,1,2,3,4,5) - doesn't really feel like emphasizing anything. The guitar here is quite strong, so I think you should ignore the faint drum sounds and follow it instead.
  28. A circle on 04:30:020 - and 04:30:188 - perhaps, as it's weird to ignore them.
