I don't ever remember installing mIRC at all, I've only ever used my (biased opinion) favourite multi-IM client Trillian since it disregarded the need to have both Messenger (bloated piece of crap) and independent IRC program attending to my needs.

But still, that's an amazing amount of time to have something stay as data, I usually reformat every couple of months just to refresh everything so there's no chance anything of mine (besides anime, etc.) stays around for that long...

The evaluation period thingy stopped working (or should i say started working since you couldn't use mirc for real after 30 days) for almost everyone except some lucky people back in v.6.xx.

regedit -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> mIRC -> Delete "LastRun" folder.

My copy of WinRAR 3.93 was informing me that it was past its 40-day evaluation period for over 6 months since I installed a fresh copy of it on my laptop. I then decided to upgrade my copy of WinRAR to 4.01 and the evaluation period expiration pop-up seemed to have disappeared o_o

I'm still trying to figure out whether or not the trial period has been reset back to 40 days remaining or the upgrade installer pooted up its own registry to kill that annoying popup notifier xD oh well; time will tell.

Exact same thing happened to me, it didn't come back. Don't question it, just enjoy free stuff.

Putty has issues with some unicode. conhost (Windows native terminal) has issues with most unicode.

Functionality, format, and features.
And the amount of power/memory the software takes up can vary.
