This would require downloading the exact skin they're using, including any modifications on their end, which can result in unnecessary file transfers from both clients and can also serve to transmit pornographic or vile imagery from one player to another. Children play this game too, and we try to keep it relatively clean, especially for in-game data transfer. The nice thing about spectating is that it uses mere bytes of bandwidth (not megabytes)

this would require development of an entirely new program capable of interfacing with osu! which isn't worth the trade off when you consider there are dozens of applications that already do this

ya but it wall sound better if there is one like this in-game i mean skin downloader hmm~ at least for supporter so they can download skins that the other are playing with :3

That would require a p2p connection with the other user : what if they have slow uploads? NSFW skins (yay qwaser theme)?
This is not possible.

You could always ask them "can I have your skin?"

This is not possible.
1. a button like: Allow sharing the Skin.
2. If Yes: automatically one time uploading of Skin to the Servers.
(if he changes the Skin, then the old gets deleted and he uploads the new one, so we prevent huge use of memory)
3. Only osu! Supporters can access.
4. While Spectating this one player, Skin automatically applies.

no p2p connection needed.

Why can't you just spectate the normally, it's not like there's going to be a huge difference.

its interesting to see with what skin they are playing, if with 300ths or not, and how big they are.

takes another 1 minute to download said skin

It may slighty have an effect on the gameplay but it's the same as if a person playes with a red switch or blue switch or w/e.

but anyway I am for a normal observer mode as it is now.

Someone smart needs to invent a d3d recorder that forces 60fps and slows the game down if necessary, ultimately producing a perfect video.

Good luck playing Osu! with 60fps.

I'm enjoying it very much, thank you.

Slow down? u could cheat with that. (like halftime without 0,30x score)

No, what I had in mind would actually trigger the "error in timing calculations" event, which happens when the game is slowed down or sped up.
That check would need to be disabled for replays for this request + my theoretical app to work.

did they add it?
