17:21 Nishizumi: hi
17:21 Nishizumi: idk, depend on my connection T_T
17:22 frukoyurdakul: plz try to download :3
17:22 frukoyurdakul: i really need opinions for this map...
17:23 Nishizumi: why asking me for give opinions ?
17:23 Nishizumi: :o
17:23 *frukoyurdakul is listening to [https://osu.ppy.sh/b/1087036 Inferi - Those Who from the Heavens Came]
17:23 frukoyurdakul: please...
17:23 Nishizumi: what..
17:28 frukoyurdakul: are u there?
17:38 Nishizumi: sorry
17:45 Nishizumi: :c
17:49 Nishizumi: hey
17:49 *Nishizumi is playing [https://osu.ppy.sh/b/1202226 Inferi - The Promethean Kings [Merciless Oni]] <Taiko>
17:49 Nishizumi: ;c
17:49 frukoyurdakul: oh
17:49 Nishizumi: sorry
17:49 Nishizumi: my connection was bad
17:55 frukoyurdakul: nice play
17:55 Nishizumi: @_@
17:56 Nishizumi: pattern looks randomly
17:56 Nishizumi: imo
17:56 frukoyurdakul: did u enjoy it?
17:56 frukoyurdakul: hmm. so what do u suggest?
17:56 Nishizumi: goodly
17:56 Nishizumi: why did you use 1.5 at the first
17:56 frukoyurdakul: should i decrease streams?
17:57 frukoyurdakul: there are 1/6 and 1/3 notes more than 1/4
17:57 frukoyurdakul: easy to read
17:57 frukoyurdakul: is it looking bad?
17:57 Nishizumi: no need to decrease it
17:59 frukoyurdakul: okay... so what way should I edit them?
17:59 Nishizumi: maybe only decrease the sv up and 1/6 pattern
17:59 Nishizumi: like
18:00 Nishizumi: 00:17:602 -
18:00 Nishizumi: or that 1/3
18:00 Nishizumi: like changing there to kdddddk(1/6) and ddkddkddkkdk (1/3)
18:01 Nishizumi: only change 00:18:051 -, maybe
18:01 frukoyurdakul: how about this one then?
18:01 frukoyurdakul: 00:19:063 (101) -
18:02 Nishizumi: basically, you have to use common pattern to deathmetal song imo
18:02 Nishizumi: since general drum sound on deathmetal songs is boring (not much variation)
18:03 frukoyurdakul: that's why i tried to make variation on the lyrics part
18:03 Nishizumi: i know x_x
18:03 frukoyurdakul: no variations needed then
18:03 frukoyurdakul: so, i can just simplify the rhythm?
18:04 Nishizumi: it's need, but just make a little bit
18:04 Nishizumi: but depends on the guitar/drum that you follow lol
18:04 frukoyurdakul: well since the drums are already heavy
18:04 frukoyurdakul: i didn't follow the guitar sound at all
18:04 frukoyurdakul: :D
18:05 Nishizumi: umm, just a little suggestion for this stream 00:33:782 -
18:05 Nishizumi: what if you change this 00:34:456 - and 00:35:130 - to kat
18:06 frukoyurdakul: nice
18:06 Nishizumi: the contrast color for differentiate beatsnap ?
18:06 frukoyurdakul: sounds better
18:06 Nishizumi: i think it's very needed
18:06 frukoyurdakul: 00:35:468 (226) - but i want to keep it, since the drum sound is very low
18:07 Nishizumi: since player will confusing i guess :c
18:07 frukoyurdakul: on that spot? really?
18:07 frukoyurdakul: uhh...
18:07 Nishizumi: it's up to you, i just give my opinion xD
18:08 frukoyurdakul: no no 00:34:457 (216,223) - these two is a good one
18:08 Nishizumi: not only on that spot
18:08 Nishizumi: for example
18:09 Nishizumi: 01:19:286
18:09 frukoyurdakul: its already a kat
18:09 Nishizumi: this 1/6 kats and 01:19:707
18:10 frukoyurdakul: well, if you listen to it, you realize that it is a snare sound here as well
18:10 Nishizumi: looks confusing at 01:19:707 - so players don't know that is still 1/6 or back to 1/4
18:10 Nishizumi: just imo
18:11 Nishizumi: yes i know
18:11 frukoyurdakul: 01:54:764 (649) - for example, this note has no snare sound on it
18:11 frukoyurdakul: hence i put a don here
18:11 frukoyurdakul: no wat
18:11 frukoyurdakul: wait*
18:11 Nishizumi: but for better structure, i think 01:19:623 - change to don or (187) change to don
18:11 frukoyurdakul: it has a snare sound.
18:12 Nishizumi: you did it :p
18:12 frukoyurdakul: instead, i wanna change 01:19:707 (287) - this to don
18:12 Nishizumi: lol
18:12 frukoyurdakul: so i think players can understand that 1/6 pattern is over
18:13 frukoyurdakul: i misheard at the 2nd place
18:13 frukoyurdakul: and keeping 01:19:707 (287) - this note as a kat breaks consistency as wel
18:13 frukoyurdakul: as well
18:14 Nishizumi: lol
18:14 Nishizumi: okay
18:15 Nishizumi: 02:05:129 - you will keep this too ?
18:16 frukoyurdakul: nope
18:16 frukoyurdakul: also changed
18:17 frukoyurdakul: 01:03:445 (95,96,97,98,99,100) - should i keep these ones that way?
18:17 frukoyurdakul: i noticed snare sounds her
18:17 frukoyurdakul: here*
18:18 Nishizumi: no need
18:18 Nishizumi: you don't have to always follow the actual drum sound
18:19 Nishizumi: make the better structure is much better than follow the drum imo
18:20 Nishizumi: but it depends the mapper (stylemap) xD
18:20 frukoyurdakul: so im gonna edit the main streams
18:21 Nishizumi: yes, make as simple as you can
18:21 Nishizumi: especially for the 260bpm
18:22 Nishizumi: btw if you listen the drum 03:30:830 - you will hear 1/2 not 1/3
18:22 Nishizumi: :p
18:22 Nishizumi: except you follow the guitar
18:22 frukoyurdakul: i followed the guitar
18:22 frukoyurdakul: :D
18:22 frukoyurdakul: 03:31:291 (1733,1734,1735) - in here too
18:23 Nishizumi: fk you combine it x_x
18:23 frukoyurdakul: so, mixing guitar and drums like that... is it bad?
18:23 Nishizumi: quite bad
18:23 Nishizumi: tbh
18:24 Nishizumi: but
18:24 Nishizumi: it's not a big problem
18:24 Nishizumi: it's ok, but kinda hard to play
18:24 Nishizumi: or just i'm too noob
18:24 frukoyurdakul: you? noob? lol
18:25 frukoyurdakul: no way :D
18:25 Nishizumi: :/
18:26 Nishizumi: that's all
18:26 frukoyurdakul: you can post this conversation to the thread
18:26 frukoyurdakul: it helped a lot
18:27 Nishizumi: the big problems is only at 1/6 + 1/4 for me
18:27 Nishizumi: :/ ok
KamizonoShinobu
I think you need to remove my name from tags because the map is no longer collaboration.

00:13:557 - I think generally the pattern is ok but when I play it, it feels awkward against the music. I quite like just a more simple pattern like kdddddkdddddk, it fits other later parts too like 00:17:602 - 00:25:692 - .
00:19:498 - I think this could be possibly changed into a dddk 1/8, to play on how the double bass pedal is performed.
Dude I noticed 00:29:737 - this stream isn't snapped, I don't wanna say "make sure and go through this whole map and check snapping" but you might want to. Just gently tug some of the notes and you will see...actually I checked and it really is a heavy issue here in the beginning, I'll keep checking every note throughout and remind you. Unsnapped notes in the beginning.
00:29:737 - I think this stream is another one that's kind of clashing with the music and awkward to play, how about kddddkdkkddk? That still kind of makes it more difficult but fits with the other streams doing kdddddk (if you apply my mod xd)
00:39:624 - I dunno why but I think if you make this don it emphasizes the hi-hat and it sounds better to me? uh...maybe i'm weird.
01:08:162 - I don't know if I like this pattern to much for the music, kkkkddkdkkddkkd is a better pattern for me that follows rather the drums and some of the other instruments, the other pattern is quite free-flowing, which is cool, but this is better for me at least, to fit with your style.
01:13:556 - Same here, not feeling the pattern, I actually have a pretty good replacement which is similar as well, try kdkkkdkkkdkkdkk, it keeps a similar structure as your other stream but just, for me, plays nicer?
01:19:960 - As the bass implies, maybe kdk here? Just plain ddd is a bit vanilla.
01:35:382 - Kinda another nitpick with the streams, it's vanilla feeling and almost harder than if there was some good filler, I got kdkkdkdkdkkd, It fits the drums really faithfully I believe.
02:30:831 - Extending the stream will really help this feel less awkward than it currently is, adding a don and then changing 02:30:916 - to kat fits rather nicely. Without it, this feels so weird to me. Or, do like at 02:38:753 - where it is just a kkkk stream. Or add a don there too. This is really up to you but do one or the other imo
03:35:214 - I really do not like there being such an extreme part on the faster bpm, I have a suggestion for cutting up your stream without changing any notes 03:35:618 - 03:35:733 - 03:36:080 - 03:36:310 - 03:36:657 - 03:36:772 - 03:37:118 - 03:37:233 - , those should be deleted imo. It still makes it intense without being too hard.
03:52:176 (91,92) - ctrl+g, it feels wrong the other way, like, purely by ear.
03:52:983 - I'm sorry but I think you should cut this stream up super hard as well, the drums don't produce a stream, so I don't know where this is coming from. It seems way too complicated too, I can agree with the streams you put before, but this one needs to blatantly be cut down into triplets and single notes, some 5plets. Maybe some more. This is pretty important for me, that you work on this stream. Maybe in irc we can see about making something else? I usually dislike blatant difficulty spikes all the way in the middle or the end of the maps, and I know it has some point for the song, but this is one of the only things in the map I really don't enjoy. Here is my proposal : Pretty lengthy so get ready for this, normal 1/4 spacing so it wont be confusing.
03:52:868 - k ddk d kdddk d kdddkdddkkkdkkd kdddk d k ddk d kdkkd kkkkddkdkkkdkkddkdkdkkddkdkkddkdkdkkddkkddkdd kdk kkddk k kkkkdkdkkkkkk. That shows all the cuts I made to the stream.
04:35:530 - For some reason the stream seems awkward as well, not really fitting the guitar? kkkdkdkdkkkkddd ? :D Sorry for doing this so often, I just think I have a lot of good alternatives for the stream so I wanna help you achieve like no awkwardness.
04:44:041 (429,430) - ctrl+g, kinda similar to above.
04:44:799 - With this, k needs to be here because it's like the part at 04:45:811 -

That looks like that's all! I really like the map but I think some of those changes will make it really more fun than technical, and fit the song more? I think simplicity is key for some songs, and you do really well in 90% of the spots!

 I think it emphasizes well for some reason. It is basically for variation upon the first long stream that you've mentioned, and it also supports the music somehow. If that comes up again, I will change it though.

00:19:498 - I think this could be possibly changed into a dddk 1/8, to play on how the double bass pedal is performed.

 The double bass is in 1/6, not 1/8. Also, I want to keep the pattern consistent. 1/3 + 1/8 won't look good.

Dude I noticed 00:29:737 - this stream isn't snapped, I don't wanna say "make sure and go through this whole map and check snapping" but you might want to. Same answer.

00:39:624 - I dunno why but I think if you make this don it emphasizes the hi-hat and it sounds better to me? uh...maybe i'm weird.

 Tried already while on mapping, and it's the best option to emphasize the hi-hat sound. Don just doesn't do it enough there.

01:08:162 - I don't know if I like this pattern to much for the music, kkkkddkdkkddkkd is a better pattern for me that follows rather the drums and some of the other instruments, the other pattern is quite free-flowing, which is cool, but this is better for me at least, to fit with your style.

 The density change on kats representing the guitar-pitch change which goes from high to low.

01:13:556 - Same here, not feeling the pattern, I actually have a pretty good replacement which is similar as well, try kdkkkdkkkdkkdkk, it keeps a similar structure as your other stream but just, for me, plays nicer?

 01:13:556 (185,186) - Applied ctrl + g on those two in order to put a don on prominent kick sound on the white tick instead.

01:19:960 - As the bass implies, maybe kdk here? Just plain ddd is a bit vanilla.

 Changed to kdd instead. A don represents the lower drum sound better.

01:35:382 - Kinda another nitpick with the streams, it's vanilla feeling and almost harder than if there was some good filler, I got kdkkdkdkdkkd, It fits the drums really faithfully I believe.

 Yours is too complicated if you think about the drums. On the kkkkk, they are all the same. They also exist on 01:35:803 (411,412) - these two but I'd rather keep them as dons because I don't really want a 7 kats in a row, and 4 dons on that spot makes it more readable.

 Applied the first one. Also added one don 02:38:753 - here in order to keep the similiar parts consistent on dense-wise.

 The drums are strongly supporting a stream there.

03:52:176 (91,92) - ctrl+g, it feels wrong the other way, like, purely by ear.

 The guitar pitch is increasing, so is the kat density.

Here is my proposal : Pretty lengthy so get ready for this, normal 1/4 spacing so it wont be confusing.
03:52:868 - k ddk d kdddk d kdddkdddkkkdkkd kdddk d k ddk d kdkkd kkkkddkdkkkdkkddkdkdkkddkdkkddkdkdkkddkkddkdd kdk kkddk k kkkkdkdkkkkkk. That shows all the cuts I made to the stream.

 That stream is the main point of the song. The drums are going all the way with the twin-kicks, and it is neccessary to put a stream there. Also, it's not overmapped at all, and I want that section the most intense part of the map.

04:35:530 - For some reason the stream seems awkward as well, not really fitting the guitar? kkkdkdkdkkkkddd ? :D Sorry for doing this so often, I just think I have a lot of good alternatives for the stream so I wanna help you achieve like no awkwardness.

 Those streams are a mix of guitar and drums, while the first part supports the guitar, the second part of it supports drums which are going kick-snare-kick-snare-kick-snare.
04:44:041 (429,430) - ctrl+g, kinda similar to above.

 Somehow, that fit. Applied.

04:44:799 - With this, k needs to be here because it's like the part at 04:45:811 -

 Ehh, the guitar goes the same 4 times so I put the ddd kdd variations to make the section, well, more various. If this broughts up again, I will change it though.

That looks like that's all! I really like the map but I think some of those changes will make it really more fun than technical, and fit the song more? I think simplicity is key for some songs, and you do really well in 90% of the spots! The reduce on streams just happened today, since I didn't want to make a map with only streams. But, I think the song needs a very dense parts as well, hence I kept the middle 260 bpm section as it is now.
Thanks for the mod!

Hey fruko, here is my mod.

  1. d=Don
  2. D=Big Don
  3. k=Katsu
  4. K=Big Katsu
[General]

  1. All seems fine
[Merciless Oni]

  1. 00:07:152 - i suggest changing this note to K, as the sound is different from 00:06:815 - , also, it looks more consistent with 00:11:534 - .
  2. 01:20:044 - how about change this note to k? for some reason "flows" better. (just noticed that you kkd in 01:55:101 - , so i don't know if you did this for variety)
  3. 01:39:089 - you can remove this note as it could look more consistent with 01:36:393 - and 01:47:179 - where you don't have a note.
  4. 01:40:185 - to 01:40:522 - i highly suggest making this kkkkd as "imo" it looks weird having one in 01:37:488 - and not here where is the same sound.
  5. 02:41:871 - to 02:42:713 - more or less a personal suggestion here, you could rework this to look like in 02:40:859 - as the sound of 02:42:545 - fits better with k and you are ignoring that here.
  6. 03:28:176 - another personal suggestion here, how about add K finisher in 03:28:176 - and 03:28:407 - ? it fits really well with the melody imo.
  7. 04:55:080 - it feels weird here as you was using kdkdkkd previously like in 04:54:069 - but no there, so maybe swapping 04:54:996 - and 04:55:080 - could work well.
More or less that's all from me, nice song pick, gl!

Hey fruko, here is my mod.

  1. d=Don
  2. D=Big Don
  3. k=Katsu
  4. K=Big Katsu
[General]

  1. All seems fine
[Merciless Oni]

  1. 00:07:152 - i suggest changing this note to K, as the sound is different from 00:06:815 - , also, it looks more consistent with 00:11:534 - . Agreed, changed.
  2. 01:20:044 - how about change this note to k? for some reason "flows" better. (just noticed that you kkd in 01:55:101 - , so i don't know if you did this for variety) 01:20:044 (253,254) - The drum sounds are the same, so I'm gonna keep it.
  3. 01:39:089 - you can remove this note as it could look more consistent with 01:36:393 - and 01:47:179 - where you don't have a note. Instead of deleting the note, added the notes on 01:36:939 and 01:47:179
  4. 01:40:185 - to 01:40:522 - i highly suggest making this kkkkd as "imo" it looks weird having one in 01:37:488 - and not here where is the same sound. Reasonable enough, but instead of changing this one, changed the kkkkD to ddddK.
  5. 02:41:871 - to 02:42:713 - more or less a personal suggestion here, you could rework this to look like in 02:40:859 - as the sound of 02:42:545 - fits better with k and you are ignoring that here. 02:42:544 (1094) - Changed to kat only.
  6. 03:28:176 - another personal suggestion here, how about add K finisher in 03:28:176 - and 03:28:407 - ? it fits really well with the melody imo. I don't really a fan of using too much finishers on a map, and just because of the guitar sounds I don't think putting finishers on those spots are neccessary.
  7. 04:55:080 - it feels weird here as you was using kdkdkkd previously like in 04:54:069 - but no there, so maybe swapping 04:54:996 - and 04:55:080 - could work well. 04:54:575 (544) - Changed to kat instead.
More or less that's all from me, nice song pick, gl! Thank you!
Thanks for the mod, it was helpful.
