Problem Details:
Can't log into my account. I got a new PC and when I installed osu! into it and tried to log in it gave me a pop up for a pending verification. I clicked on it and it said the verification was success, but it doesn't log me into my account. While this all was happening I was logged into osu.ppy.sh, my account is definetly not hacked and I entered the correct password. What gives? I also tried restarting osu and trying to log in again multiple times and it didn't work. Not sure what I am doing wrong here. I also didn't get any emails regarding the verification.

Video or screenshot showing the problem:
Screenshot of me trying to log in with the pop out on the screen in bottom right: https://puu.sh/tuCkd/88743b390f.png
This is what happens when I click on it: https://puu.sh/tuCn1/9da0aa0e0a.png
After I clicked on that and it said success, this is just stuck on my osu! https://puu.sh/tuCoq/53339a5b02.png and I don't log in at all.

If you need any extra verification I can provide all the details that are needed.
osu! version: 20161220.3

your osu version definitely isn't the latest. so i'd start by updating it

On my end it says it's the latest https://puu.sh/tuEJH/a397c6d0a7.png https://puu.sh/tuEMh/bb803f355e.png
I'll try to change between two versions and redownload Stable(Latest) see if it fixes it.

EDIT: I see that the version listed in the main post is super outdated, I must have missed that since I just filled in the text in the given form.

Ok so I just tried to log in on Fallback version and it worked, I logged in. But when I switched back to Latest the same ordeal happened what's listed in the first post.

Ok, I'm not sure if I did anything in particular to fix it or it just fixed by itself, but what I did was:
1.) Log out of my account on the website and log in again.
2.) Go to my profile settings and try to change my avatar.
3.) That prompted a verification thingy and sent an actual code to my email this time unlike how the pop up in-game did.
4.) After that I tried to verify again on osu! but nothing happened, but after I restarted it a couple of times it just suddenly logged in me...

Soooo, I'm confused, but I guess everything works?

EDIT: Something to note is that I also tried restarting my PC alongside osu! , but it wasn't fixed right after the reset I still had to mess around before I just randomly logged in.
Kao
This happened to me quite recently, but it wasn't a password change.
I verified in the website before opening the game and made it a bit wonky

  1. I logged in the website, and tried to change my avatar (so it would ask me for verification)
  2. I verified my account and it was successful
  3. I opened osu! and logged in, but it still asked me for verification
  4. I clicked on the notification, but the only thing it said was "Verification successful" even though I didn't enter a code
    1. Even after closing osu!, logging out from the game didn't fix it
The fix I've done is below
  1. First log-off from the website, then login again
  2. Click on your avatar again so it would ask for verification
  3. If it asks for a code, then you're good to go. (but don't verify yet)
    1. It looks like the verification was nulled or something, since when I restart game I still get the notification
  4. Login from the game, when it asks you to verify, click on the notification
  5. It should let you enter the code now as if you haven't verified yet. Verify and then wait
  6. You should now be able to play after a few minutes

Thanks for the extra information.

I believe I have found the cause of this and deployed a fix.
