As the title suggests, by default osu!mania judges(or hitbursts as those are called in the wiki - 300, 200, etc) are able to be animated and they already are(they make a slight jump animation), but I can't seem to find a way to make them static as you could see here in Lunatic Rave 2 or StepMania for just an example.

Not only me but I've been talking with a good portion of players and have seen in a few other places people wanting this, and never found a way to make it so.

It could just be another line on skin.ini or something like that, and would be very helpful for me and many other players.

Never even noticed it made that slight animation.
Does it really bother you? Not for me but maybe that's only because I don't really play high level. Yet I can't imagine it being that distracting for people?
I should only speak for myself but I feel like peppy needs to see a whole lot of votes for
this before he would implement such a small thing being changable

Edit: I guess you could maybe cateregorize this under the already toggable Hit Animations

It does since the judge is my only focal point when playing mania, and since I transit from game to game it bothers me quite a lot, and as I said I'm not the only one, it being a small addition is also why I asked since it probably wouldn't be problematic or take a long time to add.

I agree, judge should be static so that any animation can be skinned instead of being hardcoded. But osu has a habit of inconveniencing skinners for no reason, and changing something would require effort so it's not like that's going to happen anyway.

The 'jumping' animation is quite a bother as I need to minimize moving elements to keep a stable focal point while playing. When you remove all the clutter from the usual skins, that 'small' animation pops out really badly.

For comparison, what my osu!mania looks like in comparison to my stepmania.

And this for sure, giving more room for skin customization is nice.
