It sound like all those users (-3- and -1 DOLLAR) appear first in the Name Panel of the user list.
Are you sure you aren't clicking those guys instead? Try finding yourself in the list instead of using the Search Filter and see what happens. Or maybe, hmm, don't do it as fast? I'm really confused here because I can't reproduce anything you're doing, since I have no idea what's going on.
