also why is playtime different in hd & puxtu's diff in song select but not ingame

I noticed this is completely hitsounded with....default hitsounds. Why? It doesn't sound great on my skin and I'm sure a lot of other skins share that sentiment. If you're going to go through the process of hitsounding a whole spread, why not use custom hitsounds so everyone has the same experience?

e.g my default drumwhistle literally has no sound at all so this set plays really weird to me

Uh, I remember that a similar "skin issue" was reported in this map: p/5336899 (ranked under same criteria)
At the end, it was concluded that it looks good with default skin and it's rather a problem of player skin

I can say default hitsounds are not unrankable then

Yeah you're absolutely right, but I still don't see a good reason to keep it like this. Using normal default hitsounds might've worked but using the "drum" set seems like a weird choice to me as a lot of skins don't use sounds for every sound in every set.

I think the problem is in your skin's hitsound set. Why don't you try using default skin or simply lower the volume hitsound and play the map again maybe?

It's a fault of the skinner to not make the entire hitsound set in a supposed way. If someone knows how to skin, they should also know how they are supposed to be skinned. You cannot blame mappers for using default hitsounds, because it is how it is supposed to work in default way.

You can claim that the mappers can just add custom hitsounds which is basically just default hitsounds. But it just unnecessarily increases the map file so it is not preferred.

Using default hitsounds only is not unrankable and totally okay.
Most of skins overwrite the default hitsounds that's why it may sound strange for you but your skin is not part of this map.

You should maybe change the hitsounds of your skin when you think they are disturbing or sound weird.

I use the same -hitnormal, -whistle, etc for every hitsound set, so saying it's not good because of your own hitsound is dumb

I see your point, still, using defaults is alright so let it be. I mean, I mentioned some stuff about hitsounds with Weber but he seems to be more confident using the default ones.
