Ok so im starting to get really tilted. I keep FCing these 4.3-4.8 star maps and i average about 95-98% acc. And for instance I just now beat Minori No Zokken Mirai Yohou, a 4.49 star map. with 96.79% acc and a 559x S combo. Why did it only give me 2pp? Im really not understanding.

Took me a while, but you're playing osu!standard, not osu!mania, so this goes here.

But that doesn't matter that much, since the way pp scores stack is the same in all modes. It's in the FAQ. You'll probably only see a significant change if your play makes it into your personal top 10, pp-wise. That one wasn't even in your top 25.

Oh yeah sorry for posting in wrong section didnt notice, but what im getting from this is i wont gett that much PP unless i clear a map that gives more pp than my top score ones?

The reason why this is happening is because pp is weighted., so unless it is one of your top plays, you are only getting a small percentage of the actual pp value of the play. This is shown by the percentage number and the amount of pp it is worth towards your total pp next to the play on your user page

Visual representation (not accurate but gives the idea)

Ex: You have 7 pp scores

What osu! will do is to rank them from highest pp to lowest

1. 500pp
2. 450pp
3. 400pp
4. 350pp
5. 300pp
6. 200pp
7. 150pp

Then osu! will give a certain percentage for each score, these are called weights
These weights decrease as osu! goes down the list

These are not actual values

1. 500pp (100%)
2. 450pp (90%)
3. 400pp (80%)
4. 350pp (60%)
5. 300pp (40%)
6. 200pp (20%)
7. 150pp (10%)

The total pp is calculated like so:

(500 * 100% + 450 * 90% + 400 * 80% + 350 * 60% + ... + 150 * 10%)pp

--

What happens if you get a score of 250 pp?

The whole system redoes this system again

7. 200pp (10%)
8. 150pp (5%)

notice how the 150 pp score is weighted less now

The total pp is calculated like so:

(500 * 100% + 450 * 90% + 400 * 80% + 350 * 60% + ... + 150 * 5%)pp

Calculate this total and the previous total and you'll notice that your increment in pp isn't a raw 150 pp

Actually I've done a lot of looking into how PP is fully calculated. For your top 100 plays each score is given 95% of the weight of the one above on the list until you get down to scores that are actually worth less than 1%. With this being said since every score down the list is dropped by this amount the highest you could ever expect your PP to rise is :

Your top score x 20 +416.6666 (the 416 is the total possible bonus PP).

By using this simple calculation and comparing it to your own scores it can give you a rough idea of what you'd need to increase efficiently. I'd say shoot for around 80% of this theoretical max as the closer you get to theoretical max the worse the returns on PP due to the weighting.
