Round 51: Compressed Streams

Nominated by pieguy1372. Streams that instead of being regularly spaced, are spaced considerably closer together.

Map(s) that use this technique
Hommarju feat. Latte - masterpiece mapped by simplistiC
EastNewSound - Hana wa Gensou no Hate ni mapped by tsuka
Owl City ft. Breanne Duren - The Saltwater Room mapped by JauiPlaY

Totally love it.

Meh, 3.

I'd rather have them spaced with normal spacing because this is quite flow killing.
(There are also cases with no grid snap and sexy flow, so that's why a 3 and not a 1~)

Me like. 4

5. This is the only way i space my streams unless the map seriously calls for otherwise.
RandomJibberish
Streams spaced more than half a circle are fugly, but overly compressed streams are annoying to sightread :/

Loving those, because to me they are considerably easier than streams with wider spacing.

agree on large spacing, but disagree on these being hard to sightread, if anything much easier

5 because streams

This >= sex
Anyway, I very much prefer these over spaced out streams, like stacks but keep you moving.
aston_old
I like these when they're with regular spaced streams + kinda jumpy (kinda like Sky Ferreira - One [Insane]).

Beyond sexy. 5.

I really like these, I've used them a lot while mapping~

5, unless the mapper hides them under shit and makes them near-impossible to sightread. :III

This is just sexy

I love your streams though. :)

Not voting on this one, because whether or not these work depends so much on who's using them, as opposed to other techniques. If this is used at the wrong time it can kill the map, but when used right it's fucking awesome. If most other techniques are used wrong they don't kill the map, they're just a minor annoyance, but these can make or break a map IMO.

sometimes they are easier, also auto stack is really bad so they are a good option when you rly need them.

I usually map with a high distance snap so halfing the distance for streams is very useful for me. 5'd.

I'm being conservative by giving this a 4, but I've grown to love them. Regularly spaced streams are diabolical and shouldn't exist, but compressed streams feel so satisfying to hit. As long as they're not ridiculous death streams, then I have no problem with hitting them. As I can hit them with my mousing hand, they feel especially nice.
Celeste76
These are the only streams I'll play. If a map has them, I'll play them. If they're regularly spaced, I don't since I hate them so much.

(5) It looks more organised and neater, it does somehow, for me, shows the definition of Streams to me, I LOVE IT.
alex_98
as long as they keep in line
Minty Gum
I think they look nice, and it allows me to focus on tapping in time with the rhythm instead of focusing on moving around fast enough/mashing z/x.
WingSilent
Those are nice if its fast.
When its slow, its not that good.
alex_98
As long it's not like
IOSYS-Kanbu de Todomatte Sugu Tokeru - Kyouki no Udongein(Hard)[DJPop]
they are good

I love Streams in General but I hate it when they are so wide spaced...
so I kinda Like this mapping technique
Iain
Any stream longer than 3 notes and which i cant single tap basically guarenteed me 50% 100's/50's

I always get 100 100 100 100 on this sh*t
