Highlander Con is the first of its kind in the Inland Empire; a gaming event conceptualized and executed by passionate collegiate gamers at UC Riverside.
Not only will this event encompass five competitive esports games (League of Legends, Overwatch, Hearthstone, Smash Melee, Smash 4) but also showcase other facets of the gaming industry. There will be career panels and Q&A for future leaders of this growing economic sector hosted by industry professionals as well as live performances from members of the community.
There will be dozens of freeplay computers available to attendees, a HTC Vive visual reality booth sponsored by Gigabyte, fun competitions, photobooth/drinks sponsored by Lollicup, goodies from Razer, and more!

As one of the few people who play osu! at this uni, I requested that osu! get a space for the venue which was allowed by the organizers of the event, something that is very exciting news! MintyYumi and I will be the main points of contact for more information about this event.

Highlander Con will be featuring a single player Group stage multiplayer room, where players play through all the maps in the mappool and are given a certain amount of points depending on how well they placed. The points will be counted up and players will then be placed in a Double-Elimination bracket to see who is the Rhythm Champion of Southern California! Rounds and Quarterfinals will be a Best of 5, Semifinals will be a Best of 7, and Finals will be a Best of 9 match.
General
• Highlander Con osu! Tournament is a 1v1 tournament that will occur on October 8th from 10 AM to 10 PM PST.

Match Rules
• Scores will be in Score v1.
• Invites will be sent out 5-10 minutes before scheduled time.
• No Mod will utilize no modifications, Hard Rock will have Hard Rock on, Hidden has Hidden, and Double Time with Double Time. These are required.
• In a Free Mod pick, both players must use Hard Rock, Hidden, Flashlight, or a combination of any.
• In case of both players one game off from a win, a predetermined Tiebreaker map will be played.
• Players are allowed to use mods on Tiebreaker but is not required.
• Players cannot pick the same mod twice in a row.
• For first disconnection, the opponent decides whether or not to rematch. Thereafter disconnect will count as a loss on the map.

• Both players must unanimously agree on the winner
• In case of disagreement a referee will check match history and determine a winner

Misconduct/Cheating
• Unsportsmanlike behavior and harassment will not be tolerated and a first offense will result in a warning. Any more offense results in DQ.
• Players will have their computers inspected prior to the beginning of matches to ensure that there are no illegal programs running at the time. A positive in illegal program test will result in computer obliteration.
