Background Image Keeps Going Away

I have had this problem before, but I blindly fix them...

I made a few changes to my beatmap's difficulties and updated them to the site. However, when I play the beatmap, the background image stays only for a few seconds after the game is starting.

I didn't touch the design settings in Edit Mode, so why is this happening? How can I fix this and avoid this problem again?

resoultion of the BG image?
it should be 800x600 or 1024x768 IIRC

Yes, it was working perfectly fine before I made the updates to the beatmap.

Oops nevermind
How exactly did you insert a background into your map? Did you drag it into the editor? If so, you may have dragged it into the design tab and made it act as a storyboard image. Then, after not making any changes to the "storyboard", the image disappeared as the storyboard intended it to.

Check your map's folder, and look for an .osb (storyboard file). Open it with notepad, and if you see anything besides the following, then your "background" is actually a storyboard.
[Events]
//Background and Video events
//Storyboard Layer 0 (Background)
//Storyboard Layer 1 (Fail)
//Storyboard Layer 2 (Pass)
//Storyboard Layer 3 (Foreground)
//Storyboard Sound Samples
To fix this, just delete the .osb from the folder, and properly add the background into the compose tab of each difficulty of your map.

Alternatively, you can check each .osu file in notepad. Scroll down to [Events] to see if there's anything added as a background:
[Events]
//Background and Video events
0,0,"filename.jpg"
//Break Periods
It's also possible that you see the image down below that as a difficulty-specific storyboard object. If so, delete the incorrect lines, save, and reinsert the background properly as explained above.

Oh, just saw that you actually uploaded the map. I downloaded it and you actually do have an .osb in your folder. Just delete it and your backgrounds will work properly. :p
