Hello
General
- I feel like you're using Kiai time a bit too much. Kiai time is supposed to accent the special parts of the song, but if more than half of your map is kiai time then it doesn't feel special. You could probably cut the ones at 00:12:160 - 02:20:685 - 02:25:931 and 03:23:636.
- Combo colours seem to be inconsistent through the map, whether that's intentional or not I'm not sure.
- Chroome's Extra has Widescreen Storyboard off when everything else has it on; even though it doesn't matter Navosu still doesn't like it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Easy
- 00:16:587 (1) - This sort of rhythm isn't very intuitive for beginner players since the polarity is poor. You could shorten 00:14:783 (3) and make 1 a reverse slider to map the red tick instead. You will need to do some rearrangement though. - 00:34:455 (2,3,4,1) - Pretty nazi thing, but it's possible to see that these two blankets aren't consistent. 00:34:455 (2,3) are pretty close to eachother in spacing whilst 00:37:078 (4,1) are further apart.
- 01:04:619 (1,2,3) - You could arrange these so that they make a perfect equilateral triangle to make it look neater. - 01:30:849 (4) - Minor: Blanket seems a little off.
- 01:32:160 (5) - And this one actually.
- 01:41:341 (3,4) - Similar thing as before, 4 is notably further away from the slider compared to 01:38:718 (1,2).
- 01:50:521 (1) - Might aswell remove this NC to be consistent.
- 01:53:144 (3) - Off blanket here too.
- 01:59:701 (1) - And this one; watch the tail of 1.
- 02:03:636 (5) - And this one.
- 02:25:193 - Unnecessary green lines here.
- 03:23:636 (1) onward - This part feels incredibly repetitive having the same length 3/1 sliders for almost 20 seconds straight. You could start following the guitar if the backing vocals gets too repetitive, or do something different when the main vocals pick back up.
= 03:27:570 (4) - Example here, you could end this at 03:28:226 and place a circle at 03:28:554 to add emphasis on the main vocals.
= 03:23:636 (1,2,3) - You could make any one of these a repeat slider on the middle red tick (eg 03:24:128.) since there is a guitar note there.
- 03:49:865 (1,2) - You could make these two sliders the same shape so it looks a little neater.
Normal
- 00:42:324 (1) - You could remove this NC to be consistent with how you've mapped so far (NC every 2 measures). The next section is acceptable since the music style changes a bit.
- 00:50:193 (1) - Similar thing here; make this consistent with 00:51:505 (1) this combo.
- 00:54:128 (1) onwards - Also here. I would advise keeping the chorus NCs at one every two measures, but it's up to you. Especially since you seemed to switch over at 01:07:242 (1).
- 02:10:849 (2) - I feel like this slider misses over too many beats, and it's not clear what rhythm you're emphasising. The lead guitar has beats on the red and white ticks at 02:11:013 - 02:11:177 and missing two of them with a slider doesn't seem appropriate, and the bass guitar doesn't plat until 02:11:013.
- 02:13:472 (2) - Similar thing here, this feels like it's not really prioritising either the lead or the bass. I would try to map the red tick this passes over.
- 02:25:193 - Unnecessary green lines.
- 03:14:128 - Sounds like you missed a clap here.
- 03:19:373 (4) - And here.
Akitoshi's Hard
- 00:28:390 - I don't think these gaps in the rhythm are necessary for this section since the music doesn't really drop in intensity.
- 00:38:882 - Same thing over here.
- 00:53:472 (3) - I misread this at first. I think for some reason I thought the timing was further away and since it was below the slider I didn't read it as a jump properly. It's probably fine but I might aswell say something.
- 03:54:455 (3) - Lowering the volume down to 5% seems very offputting and isn't really called for since there is still a clear guitar note here.
Seto's Insane
- 00:37:406 (3,4) - This spacing seems a little weird, since 3 has the vocal note and therefore has mroe of a significant beat compared to 4, however you arranged this so that 4 has larger spacing which gives it the emphasis it doesn't need in comparison to 3.
- 00:41:505 (2,3) - Similar thing here. The jump should be betweem 2-3 instead of 1-2.
- 00:59:865 (2,3) - Here too.
- 01:01:177 (2,3,4,5,6) - This flow feels a little weird. 2-3-4-5 follows a circular flow in a CCW direction, but then you go against it for 6 which has no significance in the music. There's also the fact that the vocal notes are on 3 and 5, yet you as before have reduced the spacing for these notes.
- 01:09:701 (6) - Placing this at around 192:164 could improve the flow between 5-6-1.
- 01:19:046 (1,2,3) - Not really a huge fan of this flow. 1-2 means you have to slide back in the direction of where you just jumped from, and since there's nothing in the music supporting this it just feels really jerky.
- 01:26:259 (3) - As before, you could increase the spacing coming into this.
- 01:29:537 (1,2) - As before, it feels kinda jerky.
- 01:31:013 - This beat feels too significant to miss. The vocals are still strong here, and even if you were following the lead guitar there is still a note here.
- 01:37:406 (1) - You could place this at around 472:292 so that there is a smoother flow.
- 02:20:685 onward - Claps on all of these repeat sliders sounds way too loud and overwhelming. Consider lowering the volume or using the drum sampleset?
- 02:39:537 (2,3) - As before about emphasis on the vocals.
- 02:43:308 (1,2,3,4,5,1) - I feel the flow here could be smoother, since there is a very large angle between 1-2 which already makes it awkward to jump to, and then there is a sharp angle going into the stream. You could try something like my example so that only one movement is required after leaving the slider. - 02:50:029 (2,3) - Spaciong emphasis.
- 03:05:603 (1) - I don't think htis NC is necessary.
- 03:09:537 (3,4) - Spacing emphasis. 3 is pretty strong here.
- 03:11:013 (2,3) - Spacing emphasis.
- 03:20:357 - I feel like you shouldn't miss this beat because of the vocals. Placing a circle here will suffice while still giving a similar effect you were going for with the rhythm change.
- 03:22:324 (1,2,3) - Spacing emphasis.
- 03:26:587 (2,3) - Similar as before about slider flow being a bit jerky. This one you might be fine with though.
- 03:44:128 (4,5,6) - How about a Ctrl+G and lowering it slightly so that there is a smoother flow?
I mentioned spacing emphasis a lot here. Perhaps this video might be useful to you?
Chroome's Extra
- 00:18:718 (1) - I feel like having a long slider like this misses too many beats in the music and decreases the intensity when the music doesn't call for it.
- 00:33:144 (1) - This slider feels out of place in my opinion. There isn't anything out of the ordinary going on in the music here so this just feels incredibly out of place.
- 00:33:472 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,4,5) - This feels pretty random to me. The music doesn't really support having beats grouped in threes so the NCs don't make much sense past pattern placement, which in of itself seems unnecessary. I also feel like there's a better way to map this section if you are following the guitar, and even if you were following the guitar switching straight back to following vocals at 00:35:767 (1) makes that entire section just seem out of place.
- 00:42:324 - rip hitsounding
- 00:50:193 (1,2,3,4) - Nothing in the music really supports using stacks like this, so I would just use regular 1/2 sliders.
- 00:51:505 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,4) - As before, nothing is really supporting the use of this 1/2 circle spam.
- 01:04:455 (6,7,1) - This stack is just a no in my opinion.
- 01:17:078 (1) - Ending this reverse slider on 01:17:406 would match the music better.
- 01:28:718 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,1) - As before.
- 01:31:013 - This beat feels too significant to be missed over by the slider since there's a clear vocal note here.
- 01:39:209 (2,3,4,5) - It's pretty hard to hear what you're mapping to with this rhythm. Neither the vocals nor the guitar are following this sort of rhythm, and the stacks seem kinda randomly placed.
- 02:15:357 (1) - This NC isn't needed.
- 02:12:160 (1) - Acutally, your NCs seem pretty inconsistent in general since at times you cut to NC in the middle of measures like here. I would try and have a consistent structure to your NCs through your map. The rule of thumb is every one or two measures.
- 02:21:996 (1) - And you seem to have quite a few unnecessary one object combos like this.
- 02:27:242 (1,2,3) - Similar to Seto's diff about spacing emphasis. 1 is a much stronger beat than 3, yet 4-1 has less spacing than 2-3 which doesn't really make sense.
- 02:54:128 (1) - The drum roll doesn't start until 02:54:128 so this feels like an overmap.
- 03:13:636 (2,3) - This flow isn't really smooth and the overlap just doesn't look very good in my opinion.
- 03:38:882 (2,1,2,1) - The spacing emphasis here doesn't make sense either. 03:38:882 (2,1) is a significant jump, but the guitar is still building up the scale, and then on the final note of the scale you reduced the spacing on 03:39:209 (2,1).
- 03:44:619 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) - These don't seem to be following much in the music. Following the drum isn't really recommended since they've already reduced in intensity and it isn't really interesting to play, and instead you end up missing most of the guitar beats which are on red ticks.
- 03:53:308 (1,1,1,2,1,2,3,1,2,3) - - Suddenly switching to follow the rhythm guitar feels kinda jarring since it happens so suddenly and in the middle of a measure. I would try a different rhythm instead.
The hero of the Hidden Leaf
- Could capitalise the H in 'hero' for better title formatting.
- 01:46:914 (3,4) - This jump doesn't sound like it's supported by anything in the music.
- 01:47:570 (3,4) - Same thing here.
- 02:10:193 (1,2) - I feel like mapping these with circles would feel like a better transition from mapping vocals into guitar since at the moment the rhythm is exactly the same as the previous four objects and there's not much to differentiate these apart from the SV change.
- 03:01:341 (1,2,3) - Spacing emphasis thing like I've mentioned in the previous two difficulties. It makes sense to have 2-3 be the jump instead of 1-2 since the more significant vocal note is on 3.
- 03:42:324 (3,4) - This jump doesn't feel like it's supported by anything.
- 02:39:046 (1) to 03:11:832 (1) - I felt a lot of deja vu playing through this kiai since the flow through most of this seems very similar; everything seemed to be curved sliders all travelling in the same circular flow. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, you're free to leave it, but if you're able to add some variety then that can't hurt.
Good luck.
