Sorry for the obnoxiously long delay. There were quite a number of entries to go through! The judges took their time, but happily, the results for Beatmapping Contest 3 are all in! Below are the top three mappers for each song. Also check out the results page linked below for scores, comments, and the full list of entries, all downloadable!

As a reminder, here are the prizes, which will be distributed after we contact the winners:
  1. Each first-place winner can choose between a Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet or an otamatone novelty musical instrument!*
  2. Each first-place winner also gets an "Elite Mapper" forum title, a 6-month supporter tag, and a shiny profile badge.
  3. Each second-place runner-up will receive a 3-month supporter tag.
  4. Each third-place runner-up will receive a 1-month supporter tag.
Congratulations to all the winners, and thanks to everyone who participated in making this the biggest contest yet!

Edit: Anybody who wants to play all the entries, Soaprman uploaded some unofficial compilation osz files to quickly add them into your osu library. Get them in this post. Be warned you might have to hit F5 a couple of times to fully load them, and they will take up a lot of space on your song list.

Any way we could get download all links for the maps? To download an osz with all of everyone's maps included. Would be fun??? to play them all in sequence. If not I can manually compile some I guess... EDIT: I am working on compiling these.

no offense, but the people who came out on top were not exactly who i would expect :o
MB showed me his Ernst map at school. I was completely and utterly surprised at how good it was.
Congrats to Licnect and Behonkiss. Hope your wins weren't just fluke and that you'll continue to make awesome maps :D

edit: Wind Climbing fixed. Had to rename Outis's difficulties because they had non-ascii characters in the names. I did "remove the accent marks" romanization which is probably slightly wrong. Deal with it.

i didn't say they were bad, i'm just saying i'm pleasantly surprised and hope that they keep it up

EDIT: btw, to some people who don't know, when i say MB, i'm referring to Lilac, since MarioBros777 was his previous username

It's really interesting to play these maps while looking at the comments~

Thanks judges for being so patient to each participant, that's really helpful for both mappers and modders~

By the way, lol@my verdict being so different from other judges. Too harsh, in addition to different tastes? Possibly. Oh well.

As I guessed, my mistake lowred my score :| Wonder how much higher score I would have got from andrea if I didn't do that mistake jump at the end.

Oh well, I got better than Lesjuh, happy30 and Shinxyn so woooo!

I know that I probably wouldn't have gotten 1#.
It just disturbs me that I could have gotten a higher rank because I did one error.

Honestly I'm surprised with results.
Gotta check all winners maps.

Edit: Well,I checked the most of maps,and there were only 3 memorable to me: Black Sheep by Larto and DC and Wind Climbing stuff by happy30,it's just pure awesomeness.

Yup, I will check them too, congratulations to all winners and runner-ups :) I hope it was fun for all participants and the judges. When can we expect next round of this contest? Maybe I will take a part in it too :D

Oh yeah, am I allowed to upload my contest map now even if I didn't won?

I don't expect to push for ranking any time soon but I would at least want it uploaded under my account and get the chance to fix some mistakes I did in the original submission.

God, I expected to come in middle or something but my map got the lowest score of the seriously made maps.

Oh you.. I also thought I would atleast be above the middle.

I knew I failed the normal difficulty but the harsh judgement on the others too came by surprise :D

Second place ain't bad, but I'm going to step up my game (break out the L word, scott) next year and go for first place.
Massive congrats to Behonkiss and the other winners by the way, I'm sure no one saw these results coming,
Kinda pissed about Ephemeral saying that my map contains 'sliders ending in 'silent' (10% sound) notes', which it never does at all.
Oh, and the breaks on Behonkiss' entry. THE BREAKS. I wouldn't even bubble a map with breaks like that.

hehe my maps are voted lower than I expected (mainly because Normal and Easy suck because they're made within two days). I actually saw Sinistro commenting on my contest entry in irc channel, but I could say nothing :D Anyway I'll work harder on my new maps then.

btw the scores are really close this time...l osing one or two points and your rank is lowered
