Sorry for the obnoxiously long delay. There were quite a number of entries to go through! The judges took their time, but happily, the results for Beatmapping Contest 3 are all in! Below are the top three mappers for each song. Also check out the results page linked below for scores, comments, and the full list of entries, all downloadable!

Song 3: Ernst

As a reminder, here are the prizes, which will be distributed after we contact the winners:

Each first-place winner can choose between a Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet or an otamatone novelty musical instrument!*
Each first-place winner also gets an "Elite Mapper" forum title, a 6-month supporter tag, and a shiny profile badge.
Each second-place runner-up will receive a 3-month supporter tag.
Each third-place runner-up will receive a 1-month supporter tag.

Congratulations to all the winners, and thanks to everyone who participated in making this the biggest contest yet!

Edit: Anybody who wants to play all the entries, Soaprman uploaded some unofficial compilation osz files to quickly add them into your osu library. Get them in this post. Be warned you might have to hit F5 a couple of times to fully load them, and they will take up a lot of space on your song list.

Any way we could get download all links for the maps? To download an osz with all of everyone's maps included. Would be fun??? to play them all in sequence. If not I can manually compile some I guess... EDIT: I am working on compiling these.

no offense, but the people who came out on top were not exactly who i would expect

MB showed me his Ernst map at school. I was completely and utterly surprised at how good it was.

edit: Wind Climbing fixed. Had to rename Outis's difficulties because they had non-ascii characters in the names. I did "remove the accent marks" romanization which is probably slightly wrong. Deal with it.

I know that I probably wouldn't have gotten 1#.
It just disturbs me that I could have gotten a higher rank because I did one error.

Edit: Well,I checked the most of maps,and there were only 3 memorable to me: Black Sheep by Larto and DC and Wind Climbing stuff by happy30,it's just pure awesomeness.

Second place ain't bad, but I'm going to step up my game (break out the L word, scott) next year and go for first place.
Massive congrats to Behonkiss and the other winners by the way, I'm sure no one saw these results coming,
Kinda pissed about Ephemeral saying that my map contains 'sliders ending in 'silent' (10% sound) notes', which it never does at all.
Oh, and the breaks on Behonkiss' entry. THE BREAKS. I wouldn't even bubble a map with breaks like that.

hehe my maps are voted lower than I expected (mainly because Normal and Easy suck because they're made within two days). I actually saw Sinistro commenting on my contest entry in irc channel, but I could say nothing

Anyway I'll work harder on my new maps then.

And yet, I beat an established iNiS map by the biggest margin out of the 3 maps.

i just remembered - since the winning maps weren't originally going to be uploaded and modded/ranked as they were because of them being used for the storyboard contest, shouldn't the mappers now upload them for, you know, rank?

Heroes of Our Time will be ranked in... 2025 maybe...

It's sad, a couple months ago I sent a PM to the winning mappers letting them know to go ahead and upload their winning maps... I don't think any of them did
