I'm sure I'm not the first or only one to consider what if someone had a video of auto playing a map(no mod), set that as the background video and played it with hidden/hr. I know it's possible because I have changed ranked background videos to improve quality. I don't know if checksum is the right word, I know the .osu files are monitored for changes, checksum? But, the background videos are not and it would be immensely easy for a top player to use this method to get a considerably better hd play without any suspicion. I would supply a video of how simple it would be, but vegas can't handle the codec for .avi files for some reason, so.. so much for that kms. But, I'll outline how simple it is.

1. change cursor to empty image
2. record play of auto playing map
3. go into a video editting program that doesn't suck
4. import the original video and your recorded video, use the audio to line up the videos
5. replace video with new edited one, (same file format)
5. bring back cursor image, and make approach circles empty images this time
6. make sure map file has the same files, or osu gets suspicious you're up to no good
7. done. you can play the map with HDHR with nomod approach circles and no one will be the wiser of your new highscore

not posting this for cheaters, just saying it's a vulnerability. I understand there's a lot of ways to cheat hidden, but I think this hack could be relatively easy to solve.

How can the game determine it's not the correct video?

Also, it only applies to maps which have videos. Then, videos play at 60fps max, causing a rather huge lag (as in, the gameplay is altered as you technically play at laggy 60fps). In order to make the video work properly, you need to change the 'Video Offset', which is a change in the .osu which'll make the map unranked
