Hello everyone ! :)

I would like to make my own ranking icons, in the same style of those both (here and here), but with a background more original (for exemple, star or flower template, as this form).

I definitly can't find a premade template that I appreciate, so I would make it myself. I tried to use Gimp and Photofiltre (mostly Gimp), but they're not adapted to realise geometrical shape (not enough flexible).

Thanks and enjoy !! :)

In GIMP, in layer menu, add a Mask Layer to the layer the image is, initialize it to black (the layer should turn completely transparent)

While selecting the mask layer (not the image layer), use whatever tool available to paint white the area you want to be visible.

As for making the geometric shapes themselves, you can try using the Pen Tool in GIMP (cubic Bézier splines), some geometry tool like Geogebra, something to make curves defined by formulas (like GraphSketch or Mathematica), download the shape from somewhere else, etc...
