About OCWT
OCWT is a series of Chinese-based tournaments that went international since last year. The 8th installment of the series is scheduled to begin the 3rd weekend of May 2016 (Group stage to happen May 21st and 22nd). Sign-ups are open as of today, and to close ONE week (May 14th) prior to the beginning of the tournament, or when registered teams are capped.
How to sign up
1. All nationalities are welcome.
2. This will be a 4-on-4 tournament, with each team consisting a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 8. It is recommended to have at least 6 players for best accommodation.
3. The highest number of teams to be accepted is 32, with 2 more spaces opened for waitlist. We will not process the applications of teams that sign up after the cap is reached.
4. When you sign up for your team, please be sure to include, in your reply to the forum thread, the entire roster of your team while indicating the captain and the teammates. You must also provide a team name and your preferred time slot for the matches (in UTC form). If you have signed up in the Chinese thread, please DO NOT sign up here again.
5. We will disqualify all applications from multi-accounts. Please sign up using ONLY one account, which is your main account. No hacks/3rd-party bots are allowed during the match. Violators will be disqualified from the tournament and banned from competing in future OCWT series.
General Rules
1. The matches are: osu! Standard, 4v4, Score v1
2. All match schedules will be announced prior to the match date. If you have to re-schedule, approach the other team and work it out, then report to the tournament staff. The rescheduled time must NOT be later than the Sunday of that week, 21:00 (UTC-7). All teams are expected to be punctual. Late teams will be given a 15-minute grace period. All teams that fail to show up (having a minimum of 4 players in-room) after the grace period ends are put as absent.
3. The mappool and map packs will be released each week after the previous week’s matches have concluded. It is the players’ responsibility to make sure that they have the maps downloaded beforehand, and prepared based on the correct version and difficulty.
4. During the match (not counting the warm-ups), if a player is found to be missing more than 2 maps, he/she MUST be switched out for another player on the team. Lags, map not available on official website, map not ranked, and map too easy/too hard are NOT valid excuses for this. For all maps that are no longer available to be downloaded from the official website, we will provide mirrors in the thread and map packs.
5. 2 player switches are allowed per map.
6. If a player does not revive from fail when a map ends, his score will STILL be counted towards his team’s score. However, if his entire team fails, this does not apply and his team will fail the map.
7. Maps in Free Mod pool require ALL 8 players to have at least 1 mod open (either HD or HR, or both, no other mod is accepted). Every team should have at least one HD and one HR. For maps in No Mod and Tiebreaker, players can choose to use mods.
8. The next round map pool will be released no later than 24 hours after the conclusion of the last match from the previous round. Please always refer to the thread for the latest updates.
Grouping and Advancement
1. Two phases are present: Group stage and Elimination stage.
2. For Group stage 4 teams will be grouped together, and Best-of-7 (Bo7) matches will be played. The best 2 teams will advance into the Elimination stage, with a total of 16 teams to begin the first round of eliminations. The ranking within the groups will be determined by looking at the following factors in order: Matches won > Net map wins (Maps won – Maps lost) > Map wins > Win-loss relationship. If two teams yield the same result then a rematch will be scheduled.
3. Elimination stage will be double elimination, featuring a loser bracket. Ro16 and Quarter Finals will be Bo9. Semi Finals and Finals will be Bo11. Scheduling will be done after Group stage concludes.
4. Two draws for placement will be done: one before Group stage and one after.
Matches
1. 15 minutes prior to the beginning time, the referee will create room and invite both captains, who will be responsible for inviting their teammates. If a captain is not present, an online teammate will be contacted instead and assigned responsibility accordingly. Both teams are responsible for keeping the room’s password private. If a team leaks the password, punishment may be dealt. If no referee is available at the moment, the players will be instructed by the organizers or another referee to create room and proceed on with the match. It is also important for the players to keep screenshots of each map saved, and send the mp link to Prophet.
2. After the warm-ups are done, captains will !roll to determine the order of bans and first pick. The team with the lower !roll outcome will ban first, and then the other team will ban. This repeats until both teams ban 2 maps each. The team with the higher !roll outcome will then pick the first map. When a tiebreaker condition is reached (both teams reaching a draw before the final point), the Tiebreaker map will be played.
3. Each team may select 1 map to be played as warm up. The warm up map must not be in the current week’s map pool and should be within reasonable length.
4. During Group stage, each team is allowed 1 rematch from disconnection should a maintained combo from the disconnected player affect the outcome of the match. During Elimination stage, each team is allowed 2 disconnection rematches. A disconnected player’s score will still be effective should his/her team remain alive by the end of the map. Each map may only be rematched once. Should disputes arise, the referee will decide if a rematch is in order.
5. If major network connection issues are present on the day of the match, the organizers will inform the participants if rescheduling is to take place. The players must not decide by themselves without informing the referee/organizers. All unexcused absences will be dealt with as an absence.
