i've probably taken influence from almost every mapper out there, but here are some of the big ones
skystar - mapping grandfather; one of the sole reasons why i started mapping. he has this otherworldly ability to take ideas from others and not only make it his own, but also make it even better.
bonzi - pattern extraordinaire, one of the few geniuses way ahead of its time
asphyxia - aesthetic wildebeast
taku - this man has some crazy good overlaps
handsome - ur a fuckin beast (even though ur mean to me)
nathan - brought to my attention the idea of equidistance, a concept which singlehandedly propelled my mapping into the spotlight. i just don't give enough credits to this man
fanzhen, nold & hw - for obvious reasons
to be influenced by a mapper does not simply mean you "utilize their patterns". instead, it means "to take into heart their ideas, mindset and general approach" present in traces throughout their works.
