Simple: the ability to see other players cursor in co-op if you so wish to. This makes it more fun playing co-op because you actually play with each other instead of just taking a part of a song. In theory it should be simple, it's like spectating their cursor while playing.
Edit: Literary adding others cursor so you can see them in co-op. They can be partly visible so they wouldn't be in the way. The cursors can be the same as your own but in a different color.
