Would be cool if you could make your own chat and invite players, could be a chat about a certain topic, team chats, or just a place to chill etc.

Just do a multi with your friends, you can chat together in #multiplayer

A dedicated option for group chat is still much better than using a multiplayer lobby. I often have to switch to skype for messaging since me and my friends are doing different things in osu.
