A progress bar maybe at the bottom to show how far you've progressed in the map. Something like a circle or something running over a line as the song progresses. And of course it would be toggleable.

It's already there. 
It already exists. Go to options, and search for timer. The default one is called "Pie" (circle). You can set it to a different one there
