It's hard to compare them, because there are a lot of kinds of pancakes, and a lot of kinds of waffles, and plenty of ways that either could go wrong. I think overall, the ideal waffle is more delicious than the ideal pancake.

Waffles. They hold toppings well. Nothing like a waffle with a ton of butter and hot maple syrup. It's probably the only good thing to eat at my dorm's dining halls.
