I also learned that i'm pronouncing half of the towns in my state wrong

or maybe it's because I suck at phonetics.

i've lived in massachusetts all my life and half of these make no sense

the townie pronunciations do though

Also, they're doing it wrong. It's At-uhl-burrow. That's how everyone in the area pronounces it.
