I don't know how to start this topic off but let me try.
I really don't think that EZ is very playable at all, the circles are too big and the approach rate is really slow. Things start overlapping each other and I can barely read on what circle I need to get next. It's a shame when I'm about to beat a higher difficulty song but I lose when there isn't' much of the song left, and I want the song to be toned down just a bit just so I can continue practicing it. Especially when there is a song that only has one difficulty.

How about each difficulty section is reduced by 1? Like HP:6 AR:7 > HP:5 AR:6 for example

I don't think that changing the formula for the EZ mod is necessary. Seems like that is more of reading problem on your part, so it is more of a preference. Have you ever tried going to into the editor and manually change things like the CS, AR, OD, etc. You can even practice certain parts or clip part of the map and save it as new a beatmap so you can practice.
