00:42:498 (2,2) - This should have a new combo. It goes from .90x to 1.40x.

OD 8.5 is LITERALLY only for the pp and you know it. It should be much lower to match the 158 bpm and less than 5 stars.

You are actually not forced to place an NC, however I gotta agree with the OD. If you take a look at the Kiai (01:01:865 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,4,5) - ) you will notice how this indeed aimed at the pp, but you can't blame anyone for it, that's how he maps.

I'm not arguing the map, I'm arguing the OD that can be changed with 1 click. There's 0 reason to have it that high. I respect how he maps but it's just unreasonable. The NC would make that pattern much easier to read too tbh.

I've always felt OD was mainly a mapper's decision as long as it made sense relative to the AR. That said, OD better accompanies maps that are straining. This is most commonly realized in stream maps where (aside from the issue of notelocking) higher OD actually forces a player to be more consistent during sections of the map that are very straining on the hand. You could apply this to really extended jump patterns too though.

The jumps in this map are supported, and not forced. (Forced in the sense of rhythm, not spacing) Compare the jumps here to the jumps on: https://osu.ppy.sh/s/386117 (Pleides diff) at
00:52:480 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - And you can see the jumps here at least make sense and play well with the song. In the map I linked, the jumps literally ignore every other rhythm in the song and create a 4 measure 1/2 jump fest. Ignoring rhythm for the sake of more consecutive jumps in a row is what pp mapping looks like. Any pp farmer should know, more consecutive jumps in a row = more pp.

Changing AR/OD is a definitely a valid argument for saying someone maps for pp though. But in terms of mapping the jumps themselves, I think it's better to analyze the jumps based on whether they are sacrificing musical rhythm for the sake of more consecutive jumps in a row.

I know this was obviously designed for everyone and their mom to DT FC, but I am having incredible trouble PASSING this map with HR - the triples in the kiai are so random that I have to focus on looking at every note I jump to (to check if it's a triple or single) instead of focusing on the jump itself

nah dude it's fine though because hit object boosting is just a myth

Honestly, I don't have an actual problem with the mapset itself, with a few adjustments it would seem good enough for ranking imo, but uh...the hardest difficulty is...yeah.
00:51:612 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - This entire part. Are you actually serious? What the hell is the purpose of these jumps? These should not be this big.
01:01:865 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) - This part is just blatant pp mapping.
If you remove both of those parts this map is 4.55 stars which is a hell of a lot more reasonable than 7 stars with DT. Also, AR 8.7? OD 8.5? What kind of retarded settings are you choosing for a 158 bpm TV size map? If you're going to make a 5 star difficulty you might as well make it AR 9, but nah, let's make it AR 8.7 so people can farm it easier!!! Gotta increase that OD to 8.5 so we can get the PP!!!!!!!!1

Played this and honestly, like many maps at this range (4.8-5*) are pretty reasonable, this one was a nightmare yet ok, i played this, got a decent score, i would like to give out my own comment (pls no hate). I don't know, here is my list of issues as a nomod player:

1. OD in last diff doesn't fit this bpm at all, it's artificialy boosted to force more pp than it should actualy give. It doesn't play well, as far as i realy like low bpm maps and enjoy everything whats betwin 150-170 bpm with positive scores, this one plays like [put well known sentence about "u r not Hanzer YT video"].

2. AR 8.7 - to 158 bpm map? As far as i hate talking about AR, there is something wrong with this.

3. I have huge feeling that last diff is messed, random doubles/triples while playing was pretty annoying, could i ask about:
00:49:238 (2,3) - ?
00:49:523 (1,2,3) - end of slider + 2-3
00:50:283 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - not sure but... maybe i am overreacting
and many more, not mention jump section in kiai time:
01:01:295 (6,7,8,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,4) - this is just out of line, i don't feel this jumps at all, can someone explain me where song ask for such jumps? Charles save us! I tough songs are mapped to be quality and fun, not purely for pp and this one goes into ranking with pure pp mapping?

I don't want to blame mapper at first point, actual system somehow allow people to map purely for pp but, where is the fun from playing a map? Does mapper wants his map to be played once and forgotten, left with negative feedback from people who might like the song and find that mapping is made "not for them". From other side, one point i could put into mapper fault - is it fun to abuse system in order of... i realy don't know how to spell this - get attention of certain players becouse you made map purely to boost their PP and completly ignore majority of people who might not find your map as fun as it could be?

Please don't understand me wrong, i respect mapper decision and respect rule "don't like, don't play". Just my few cents.

Personally i disagree with last diff, but i'd avoid posting any specifics for now since i believe that qats can handle this map without meanybody.


If this mapset will get dq feel free to contact me about mod if needed tho

While I would agree that the spacing seems a bit off in one or two places I do actually find the rhythm choice and patterns to be semi interesting (at least compared to the easier insane diff) so I think I'd be sad to see it go entirely in the case of a DQ. Seems very much salvageable to me. For what it's worth, I think the ar/od are fine but I guess I'd be enjoying it with HDHR anyways so kind of doesn't affect me anyways.

Aside from the fact that I absolutely despise TV-sizes OMG IT'S A GOCHUUMON SONG HYPE!!!

That last diff name is a damn joke. As if We cry open and This Song is About a Tragic Love wasnt fucking enough. What's so difficult about using diffnames that make sense AND shows the player what kind of difficulty they have to expect. But oh my gawd I want to feel special - just use the damn "Extra" like everybody else.

As others have mentioned in this thread, 01:01:865 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,4,5) - is horribly overspaced; there's nothing at all in the music to indicate gradually increased spacing at all, and combined with the very strange difficulty settings it's obvious that you've sacrificed map quality for the sake of turning it into a pp farm.

With just a few changes (remap the above section, lower the spacing of the jumps before the kiai, and change the AR/OD) I think it would still be a great difficulty. But if you want to remove this, then I guess that's your choice.

Other difficulties can be imroved as well in my opinion.

In eINess' Insane(and other diffs), some of the HS feel very unnatural when playing, they don't follow anything in the music:
00:06:232 (3) - clap on head
00:08:700 (1) - whistle on tail
00:16:865 (3) - whistle
00:17:435 (4) - whistle on tail
01:01:675 (1) - 01:02:245 (2) - 01:02:624 (3,4) - whistles on head
01:03:574 (2,4) - 01:05:852 (4) -
01:21:802 (2,3,4,5,6) - especially this, it breaks the music a lot.
etc.

On the other way, hard diff:
00:53:321 (3,4) - 00:58:068 (4,5) - 00:59:966 (5,6) - this spaces is too large for a hard diff.
seems you follow vocal and make space according the vocal, so NC should be at 00:58:447 (5) - instead of 00:58:827 (1) - which is better
01:00:156 (6,1) - 01:10:599 (5,1) - 00:46:485 (4,1) - ^

Jokes aside, now that we have a pretty accurate system of star difficulty rating, players should know what to expect if that's what you're concerned with.

I get that yours a joke, yes, but I feel like that names like that will just stack up and eventually we'll see "nekodex - circles [Click the Circles to gain Score!]", because the song is about Cirles and you click them to gain score, right? Thats what you do in this game, right? No? What about "BiBi - Cutie Panther [MakiPantherxd]" because I totally like Maki and the song is about panthers! No? Well.

the thing is not that the difficulty names don't refer to their difficulty - the thing is they don't relate to the song, like broccoly said, he used that difficulty name as a joke, which is slightly fucked, because ranked maps aren't supposed to be filled with jokes/memes, at least not in my opinion. but considering the songs that are allowed to be ranked (anything, even songs without any artistic value) or the fact that this very artist has another song where they sing about "chasing fun", being always "ready to hop", and being surprised about a "talking rabbit" while not knowing what to do and "drinking tea" because of that, nothing probably matters anymore and as a result, "is the order a rabbit" difficulty name probably fits perfectly.

Apart from this unnecessary discussion about the name of the highest difficulty, I am really surprised that the community actually starts caring about PP-Maps. Happened a bit late, but better late than never.

00:10:789 (3,4,5) - I'm no fan of such pattern. Either space it all evenly, or stack (4,5) under (3)'s tail

  2. 00:12:878 (5) - Maybe increasing the slider to 3/4 and replace the 6 hitcircle. Triple sounds overmapped to me
  3. 00:20:093 (6) - New Combo?
  4. 00:21:992 (6,1) - Ctrl+g? Gives the white tick more impact. If you do so, it might also affect 00:22:751 (3,4) - so you might want to ctrl+g that too
  5. 00:37:941 (2,3) - Bring the slider closer in so it doesn't create a follow point/flow line. Its fine in the kiai but maybe not during verses as to create a difference in 3/4.
  6. 00:45:536 (2) - ^
  7. Honestly other than the big jumps in the kiai, the kiai part is fine and I'm only nitpicking at some points. But I'm not sure whether you want to nerf the jumps 00:50:283 (1) - since that was the focal point that made le reddit angry.

anyway i don't think ppl can just say just by playing and looking at scores on a map that it's a pp map lik i can even fc the "remap" and its supposd 2 be "anti-pp" now. id like to think that i can confirm that this is just how taeyangs mapping style is and u cant just blame him for mapping easily playable mapz plz ;/
