Is it just me, or is mania more straining than osu mode?

I pretty much just started playing osu mania... and after like 45 minutes, I feel like I have motion sickness and my eyes feel strained... on 2 star maps, is it something I'll get used to, or can you just not play in as long of bursts, in comparision to osu mode?
Sorry if this seems like a silly question...

Figured... also I forgot to mention the speed I set it to was 10, was that a bad move for beginners?

No such thing as a specific scroll speed for beginner since everyone is different.

You going to need to make your scroll speed into fixed scroll speed. To do this go to option and go under gameplay, uncheck the box that say: Scale osu!mania speed with BPM.

Now just play with different scroll speed until you find the one you can see and react to.

Oh thanks! I didn't know you could do that!

It's also natural to slowly increase speed as you get better. Many experienced players use 25+ fixed speeds, which can seem extremely fast to new players.

Playing lower speeds would help improving faster though, as you'd get more exposed to pattern-reading style and less to trying to read note by note.

Skin change might help. I can't play on the default skin as it is too thin, straining my eyes, and stuff would make me just puke.
