[Osu!CtB] Time for a CtB mod?

New mod idea

Introduction

So, what I, and some others think could be a cool mod to have in CtB, is the Fade-In mod that mania have. In CtB it could play out really nice too, and also add up a little more challenge for players. The mod is simple, its the opposite of Hidden. So, since this is essentially the Hidden counter mod, lets compare them a little.

Hidden: Notes falls down from the screen. Around the middle of the screen, they start to dissapear, forcing players to time their movements.

Fade-In: Notes falls down from the screen. Allready faded! When they reach around half way trough the screen, they start to fade in. This will essentially force reaction time and memorizing.

This will be very easy on lower approach rates. But on lets say AR 8 and up, it wont be so easy anymore.
It might look like a direct FL clone, but its not. As FL plays out with clean memorizing.

How will it affect gameplay?

Well it is self-explanatory in how it will affect gameplay. But also, having it only fade is not all the ideas i got in mind. Here is a little setup i made for how it will affect the difficulty per map.

KEEP IN MIND THIS IS JUST IDEAS! NOT TO BE IMPLOMENTED IF NOT WISHED!

AR/OD: Does not increase!
HP: Should reduce it by 1 or 2. So if you apply it on a HP8 map, it will be either HP6 or HP7. To make it easier too pass.
CS: I dont think it should affect the CS, but, maybe reduce the CS by 0,5. As the notes is just a little bit bigger?

Score Multiplier: So if we take the x1.0 score multiplier (aka HR/FL multiplier). Then start to apply the changes in difficulty i have applied above. The HP decrease will remove aroun x0,4, and the CS decrease will remove around x0,1. So i personally can see a x0,5 multiplier (HD/DT multipluier). Or maybe have like x0,7? Idk.

Combining with mods

So lets say that this gets added. How would it be when combining with mods? Here are some ideas!

EZ: Will simply apply the EZ changes + a fade-in effect.
HT: Will apply the Fade-In changes + HT changes.
NF: Just Fade-In changes, as it would nomod.

HR: Apply the HR changes, and reducing the CS with 0,5 from what HR changes it too. Same with the HP.
HD: I dont believe they should be possible to combine, but if it does, MEMORIZE ME!
DT: Speeds up the song just as DT does, and applies the Fade-In changes.
FL: FL with Fade-In = FL. Should not be able to combine them!

I dont know what you guys think, but this sounds exiting.
What are your toughts on this? Should it be added? Why/why not?

It sounds just like an easier version of the FL mod where the vision appears in the middle and doesn't dim post 200 notes.

Am currently on the fence about the idea, but it sounds interesting.

Yeah, as i mentioned, it might sound like FL. But FL forces you to memorize, this doesent really.

I think this sounds good, however, I don't think it should change HP or CS. No other mod does this apart from HR and EZ, I feel it should just be like FL and HD are in how it affects stats (As in, not at all). I'm not sure about the multiplier, but imo 1.05x is a bit low. I'd see what others say about this though.

Yeah, the CS and HP change was just ideas.
And the multiplier is 0,5 (like HD/DT)

Its a good idea... but I dont think that reducing hp, od, cs is not a necessary at all.

I think behind FL like he said would work better, because for example, FIFL would be a lot easier than HDFL, and I think that's best to be an avoided issue.

Originaly, nomod is x1.0
With FI, it will be x1.7 (x1.0 + x0.7)

Sounds cool, I'd play it - But yeah 1.06x would be a more suitable score multiplier I think.

I think HDFI could work - perhaps a split second where the notes appear halfway down the screen, like they do with HDFL at high combo. Though you're right that FIFL shouldn't be an option, as the two would have too "similar" an effect.

It's not a bad idea at all. I could see it working but yeah i agree at a 1.06x would be better

I had an idea for a mod for ctb too where the notes that are already being played the same but all the notes have the same note being played next to them taking up more of the catching plate like this http://puu.sh/k7WXQ/a765075b7e.jpg and the notes would still be worth the same combo as it is now (as in no double combo's. The multiplier could be either 1.06 or 1.12). If missed half of them then it would either class as missing the whole thing or only half of the score multiplier but can still get the combo going like they do wither slider ticks in STD. Better to be missed though

Could call it... Expand or something XD
