Is it just me or when I can't pass a song, I put on hidden and it makes it easier?
Hidden seems to have an effect on me where it makes the song slower. Making it easier in a sense.

Well, I can sympathize with HD making higher AR reading easier, I aim better on HDHR than just on HR, but it's not a good habit to get into only playing hidden, I'd recommend you play both nomod and hidden so you stay able to read without HD.

Placebo effect much OP? You need to get into the habit of not just always playing with hidden since you always only do. Do what Mahogany said

I would agree that playing HD all the time is a bad habit. I'll only play HD if I know the song.
I'm on the Medium/Hard conversion and most of the time I do play nomod. (because AR 9.8+ is hard for me on HR)

I think this is because of OD factor, even you using HDHR for enhancing AR reading in higher diff, you still miss

I should agree what Mahogany said, even taiko doron plus HR (and SD) mods still hurts to me, so I play both no mod and mod
