Okay, so.

I want to remove that orange top bar in Taiko on one of my beatmaps so it doesn't brutally destroy the background.
I know that something in an SB triggers this, but I don't know what.

Because you see, the thing is, I thought that placing sprites in the top of the playfield would remove it, but then I did this, and it hasn't disappeared:

So uh, does anyone know what part of an SB triggers it ?

Thanks in advance.

From what I've known, you need a certain amount of SB elements (don't know how it's measured, possibly either number of elements or the total length of which these elements appear) to actually make it disappear.

We have Taiko maps that have only lyrics as storyboard (thus appearing at the bottom of the screen) but the bar still disappears.

I just tested to see how many SB elements you needed, you need at least 7 sprites on the SB in order to remove the Taiko bar.

Edit: I don't think it matters how long the sprites appear for, they could be transparent for all I know
also doesn't matter where they are in the section, just need 7
Editedit: doesn't matter if it is the same sprite

Shouldn't this be managed by a configurable flag? If it's based on the number of SB elements, this is making assumptions about when you want it and when you don't want it. eg, what if I want to have a storyboard taking place in the bottom half of the screen, but wish the orange thing at the top to remain? I'd have to limit myself to six SB elements?

I think we need peppy/a dev to answer this question now lol :[

The question as it stands has been answered; the latter (my gripe) should be recreated as a feature request, so this thread can likely be marked resolved.
