Greetings Osu! Community,

I would like to host a tournament for the community,

I am an 119K player and love the Osu! community.
I have been playing for just a year now and would love to host a tournament.
I will be streaming the tournament and refereeing one of the games. However I will need help streaming and referring the games.

This will be a 32 person tournament (Hopefully) but i will see how many people we can get in the time limit.


The tournament will be hosted at ;

Saturday 15th of August 2015 at 13:00 GMT+1 (BST)

Structure of the Tournament



SPOILER
1 - Each player will get 1 warmup map of their choice (must be shorter than 3 minutes)

2 - Each player will ban 2 maps they do not wish to play

3 - Player 1 chooses one map to play - Map is played

4 - Player 2 chooses one map to play - Map is played

5 - Continues like this until 1 person wins 3 maps. After 3 maps have been won - That player is passed on to the next round

ATTENTION: Please could all people in this tournament check in 1 hour before the tournament starts. This way I can finalize the bracket with people I definetly know are coming and the referees get a full explanation of what they are doing. Thanks!!!!

I must admit these maps are quite hard for 100k players.
I'm 83k and I still find these hard lol (probably just because i'm noob)

Umm, this map pool is definitely too much for rank 100K-200K, you might want to revise it D:
Insane difficulties shouldn't come anywhere near this rank range, this is really really hard for the rank range you've chosen ):

Just some suggestions

For rank 100k - 200k, you should choose near 3 to 3.5 star maps (still quite hard but it'll be better), then advances to 3.5 - 4 in the near-end stages.

Plus there are 2 maps in the pool that are very short (In my room and Granat). Consider choosing longer ones (90 seconds or up would be nice).

I believe you should get people who have experience in picking maps for map pool, I don't think 100k-200k players can play maps of this caliber

Please check the difficulties he stated. I made the mistake of thinking he picked 5 star maps as well at first lol.

Nice Tournament, i may be getting close to 90k, but i hope i can join anyways. (I can play insanes fairly well, but thats me. Good luck to the other players)

I am a little curious about what exactly defines a streamer for a tournament, though

Would somebody care to elaborate for me?

I have to agree ar 9.8 is very high for 100k-200k. But thats ofcourse your decision.
I'm going to clarify I am only certain I will be able to stream my own matches, I'm not sure about other people their matches.

Well i guess i could leave my "thoughts" on the mappool/tournament here after playing all of the maps/looking at the post/messages. TBH first you went over with the difficulty, then you went under. Only map i think was OK in the pool due to its small size was the tiebreaker, others were too easy (discluding the first HR map which was too hard).

The mappool was pretty small. If it was bigger it woulda been fine to have few "trap maps" like that one HR map.

It's ok tho, every single first-timer organizer makes mistakes.

few Quick tips
1. Don't blindly look into stars of the maps, 3 stars HR might show 3,6 but actually feels more like 4,8. Take time checking circle size and AR.
2. Bigger mappool=Better mappool, 17 maps > 9 maps.
3. 1 week for registration might seem ok, but it is waaay too short time since players might visit the forum only once every 2 weeks or so.
4. DONT BE AFRAID , ASK HELP! (lol im so good at giving this tip to others XD)
5. Make clear rules, and avoid exceptions.
6. TEST maps, if you cant test them yourself due to the tournament being for higher tier players, have someone else test them.

Once again, everyone makes some mistakes, one only learns by practice.

E: ppl enjoy playing new maps they havent seen b4 ;) ie. pick a lot of DJ s3rl/Non-ranked maps
