Amplitude and Frequency

Anyone remember these games? They were the first console games released by Harmonix (makers of Rock Band today). It was one of those music games that didn't have a special controller -- all that was needed was a DualShock and a good sense of rhythm.

If the servers weren't taken offline, I'd ask if anyone else plays on FreQnet.

Amplitude was pretty great even though the music selection was absolute trash.

I played Amplitude up until the later levels of hard mode, at which point the game actually got hard and I quit.
It at least had a few good songs...

Wasn't a demo for Frequency on that PS2 network startup disk? Think I had a bit of fun on it.

Closest thing I've been able to play is Lego Rock Band DS, which uses a similar gameplay style. I'd still like to try the originals, since LRB doesn't include the remixing element at all.

Unless it's just nostalgia blinding me, Amplitude is my genuine favorite music game of all time. The visuals, the music style, and the idea of playing each instrument before Rock Band took it to the literal level were all perfect.
