THE TOURNAMENT IS LIVE

Today's the big day everyone, Osu@UCI's tournament at Press Start is live! For information regarding our tournament and our club, check out http://osuuci.com/pressstart/ . At twitch.tv/osuuci there will be a show match streamed between UCI (Aoyama Mio, leluffy, jawnmewn, Happystick and UCSD (Andrew, bananamilk, Harrharrqi, xxdeathx) at 4-5 PM PDT. Following that, the top 8 of the tournament will be streamed as well.
This thread will be used and updated through out the day to keep you guys in the loop about who's coming out on top for the $300 prize pool. 18 entrants currently remain and they've been divided into the following groups:

Only 5 days from now, the Bren Events Center in will be holding one of the largest LAN's ever on the west coast! On May 9-10th, Press Start opens its doors to 36 straight hours of gaming. Compete against the rest in League of Legends, CS;GO, Melee, and of course, osu! Fight your way to the top to grab your share of the $30,000 prize pool! This tournament brought to you by osu!@UCI! We're a quickly growing, tight-knit community of players at the University of California Irvine. Press Start was looking to expand the variety of games they could offer at the event so they approached our club to organize a tournament for them. The officer staff has been hard at work with creating map pools and rule sets and we're all tired but proud to have been able to help make Press Start happen. We'll be manning the osu! booth the day of to handle administration and questions. In addition to contacting us through osu!, email, or in person, also make sure to follow our Twitter updates of the event, as we may be tweeting our important announcements, delays, changes, etc.




Format
Press Start will be featuring a single player Swiss style bracket system, where every player will play each other so we can get an accurate reading of who truly is the best of the best. All of our players start out in our pool and will play best of 3's from the appropriate map pool. From there the top 8 will advance onto the quarter finals and will play best of 5's from the modded song pools. Following that, the semi finals with a best of 7 and the grand finals in a best of 9.



Rules
-!roll begins every match, higher roll wins
-Roll loser decides warm up map (any song <3 minutes, not in map pool)
-Roll winner decides first map
-Thereafter, loser decides next map
-No map bans
-Each mod can only be selected once by a respective player
-Tournament rules and structure are subject to alterations by the administrators; administrators have the final say in any disputes
-New players may sign up during the setup period provided that spots still remain or become vacant
-Player accounts must be in good standing
-Players must be physically present within the LAN to play
-Missing a time slot (registration, matches, etc.) counts as a loss; please show up a few minutes before your alotted time slot so you and the administrators can set up in time.

Prizing
1st: 12 months of osu! supporter, mechanical numpad, Wacom CTL 480
2nd: 6 months of osu! supporter, mechanical numpad
3-4th: 4 months of osu! supporter
5-8th: 1 month osu! supporter
All top 8 placers will be memorialized on the osu! UCI website.
