Information

Rayman, released for the Atari Jaguar originally (had pretty bad controls and the music was worse), but was quickly ported to the Playstation 1, was developed by Ubi Soft Montpellier (basically, french Ubi Soft), and published by Ubi Soft. It was later released for the Sega Saturn, and the PC in 1996. This game has quite a legacy, being highly acclaimed for its animated 2D Graphics, Atmosphere, and Soundtrack. It was awarded both "Best Music in a CD-ROM Game" and "Best Animation" in Electronic Gaming Monthly's 1995 Video Game Awards. While the gameplay hasn't aged the best, it's still worth trying out. But let's delve further into "Best Music", shall we?

The music was solely composed by Rémi Gazel, a musician, a graphic designer, and also a composer (thinking this may've been obvious). The compositions are some of the best to have come from the PS1, and in my opinion, still hold up to this day. And seeing how Rayman's 20th Anniversary is upcoming, what better way to celebrate it than by reminiscing onto the past, and honoring Rémi Gazel's fantastic work onto Rayman. We'll be specifically looking at the PC/Saturn release of the game, if only because the extra tunes the PS1 version has are nothing special, just some basic drum beats.

As you can see, there's a lot of work to be done, and I may need some assistance on the way. If you are interested in helping out to celebrate Rayman's soon to be 20th anniversary, feel free to choose any of the songs above, and transform them into a beatmap! It doesn't matter what gamemode, and in fact, some songs may be suited towards something that isn't standard, hey it's your choice.

Cannot Be Mapped

These mostly aren't even really songs, but rather atmospheric sounds (with the exception of a few, which are just too short) Feel free to listen though!

11 - Rainfall

Band Land
17 - Storm in Band Land
18 - The Red Drummers

27 - Watch your step!
29 - Flooded Mountains

Other
49 - Yeah!
50 - Oh no!
51- Movie ~ Presents
52 - Movie ~ Title Screen
53 - Movie ~ Intro
54 - Movie ~ Outro
55 - Drums of the Enemy (though feel free to add it to the end of 13, 23, 30, 36, 42, and 46 if you can find a way to make it work!)

If you for some reason want to map these songs, go ahead, I'll be damned (and seriously impressed, though that doesn't matter) if they find a way onto the rankings list! I personally won't be looking at any of these songs.

Extras!

This isn't really in relation to the project in general, so feel free to ignore this box.

During the last year, Rémi Gazel has started up the Rayman 1 Live Project, where they are remaking many compositions from Rayman 1. The two videos they have up now are absolutely top to listen to, and you can locate them onto his channel! If you want to keep track of the progress, his twitter page is an option, but a more viable option is the project's Facebook page. If you're interested, feel free to stop on by those places, and have a listen!

I'd love if you beatmap all Band Land songs as 1 long song.
