Hello, JanreyNexus121 here :D
So i have been thinking, Can i suggest this feature "After XXX Attempts.... when watching a specific replay?
Please see the Example below:

Example was in spoilerbox. The resolution was too big to show it. "SEE After 3 Attempts...."

So What is advantage of this feature?
-You could analyze yourself if you're getting better or not on specific songs(based on retries or attempts)
-It helps you to remember those moments you have when having many retries/attempts on that song. (Such Raging, etc.)
-You could check if that player also spamming retries (No such offense when spamming retry) (Sometimes it bothers me if trolling.)
-Could use to be Evidence when player is involved in cheating. (1 attempts only +SS + only 1 point differences on #2 playerr +cursor moves like non-human and the log was only he played is that beatmap)
-Helps you to figure out if pro players is having many attempts or not. (If you're curious on it.)
-It helps to determine if that player was really tried their best playing and retrying to succeed it or not.
-You can determine on how many attempts that maybe you could take based on replays of most #50 players (Ex: chances of 4-10 attempts will take.)
-And Many More...

So you are saying this is good?
- I can say yes to me because with that simple feature you can do analyzing, comparing, etc(whatever you think that was possible)

---This idea may become helpful at sometimes as this features says how many attempts you did after you finish that map.
---This idea where based on checking my replay and i don't know how many attempt i did take to finish it.. (Nature of Dying.) and Based on curiosity of how many attempt did pro players have?
---Sorry for my bad english i can't explain things clearly. But in myself i can. So please hope you understand.

Thank you. :D ^_^

Why?
If you keep using ~, ctrl R, SD/PF it'll go up
If you exit and then replay it resets
I see no need in it, and it would rather feel disturbing to show other how many tries it has cost me

As baraatje123 said, it will not show an accurate count. Even showing the total number of times the player played that beatmap, what valuable info will that give?
drum drum

adding to this, a player can quit a map and play it again to break off the count
