The recommended Approach Rate for a Catch the Beat specific difficulty of “normal” difficulty (in accordance with Taiko, this is more to the “insane”-ish level of play rather than an actual “normal”) is AR8. AR9 can be used for faster pace songs as determined by the mapper, but AR10 should never be used for a below-superinsane level of play.
It's totally outdated. The most popular AR is around 9, and with the introduction of the difficulty spread having easier difficulties, this guideline is totally useless.

Agreeing with this, it doesn't relate to any specific difficulties and is really outdated for the current mapping "meta".

I want a AR10 Cup

Amended kbye.

On a more serious note, agree with this removal.

what would be wrong with this if whole map was straight line stream, just speed increased to ar10? :|

So CtB "normal" difficulties are AR9 now instead of AR8?

The funny thing is, this guideline was done when there were simple CtB diffs in other mapsets. What's "normal" nowadays? 3 years have passed since then.

I guess you're somewhat right about it, it may be quite restricting for mappers nowadays (even though it's just a guildeline which can and will be broken under a lot of circumstances).

wut This is still alive? o.o Remove it at once. \o/ Every since we are mapping full spreads mostly this is useless as stated. And if the mapper wants to use lower AR then he/she should do that freely without limits. Well, stupid combos shouldn't be allowed (like AR9 Cup with 1/8 Dashes) but we will take care of these cases one by one. Agree with the removal of this. o/

Anyone else has to say something about this? Else this will be bubbled since there seems to be a conclusion already.
Loctav
Removed without replacement. No one cared for this one anyways.
