1.disable mouse acceleration(if you have it enabled)
2.change your grip(or buy a new mouse padI would do that)

3.
I's beginner/average player (5-6 star maps) around 2k playcount.

I haven't been playing Osu for quite a while, so I thought they changed the star system or something.... 5-6 star maps? Like, wat.... :V

Maybe if you stopped tryharding maps that are way out of your league, you wouldn't be having grip problems.

And try to learn the game FIRST before jumping head on to 5 - 6 star maps?

God, as much as I hate to admit it, sometimes the community is downright disgusting up here.

Yes, it's not very good to jump straight for 3k pp difficulties, but couldn't you have said it in a more relaxing manner? Maybe it's his way of doing things, and the only reason you could bash him is that he asked that kind of question when he isn't trying out the standard approach: Easy-Normal-Hard-Insane, but rather jumped straight to Insane.

Other than that, he has done nothing wrong. I jumped straight from Normal to Insane because I couldn't be arsed playing most of the Hard maps. Have I done wrong? No, I fucking haven't.

Reis mate, just do whatever you like, but if you aren't going to start from Easy, don't ask anyone here for help, as most of the people started from baby steps.

Not sure if your post is referring to me or -LeeP-, but here it goes.

No, I could not say it in a more relaxing manner, nor am I bashing him. This is my way of giving feedback. If you find it disgusting, that's your problem. I have been in his position, I have done the same "mistake"/ had the same problem, and I know what worked for myself to fix it. He doesn't have to take what I say for granted. That's just what worked for me.

My post was mainly related to LeeP, yes, but I could very well answer on yours too.

What part of him playing harder maps is "tryharding"? That's a VERY loose application of the word. You also aren't giving very constructive feedback by telling him that he's tryharding for actually taking the challenge of going straight onto Insane, because he likes it. Like I said, his ONLY mistake was that he went here to search for said feedback even though he should've known people would immediately brand it as a "mistake" and try to insult him either indirectly or by covering it up with some sort of selective feedback.
The crux of the abovesaid is - just because you did something you didn't like in the past (e.g. you jumping immediately to Insane) doesn't entitle you to tell the guy he should stop "tryharding" (instead of nicely saying that he is maybe better off starting at Easy) - even less so in such an insulting tone.

He's a new member, and no matter what, you, as a semi-senior member are responsible for giving him sound and positive help, without an overuse of sarcasm or any other underlyingly mocking words. Always remember that.

Looking back, I should have used another word other than 'tryharding'. Maybe I came off as sarcastic or mocking, but that was not my intention.

When I said "try to learn the game" it means getting the basics down, and mouse grip is one of them. Sure, you can jump straight to scarlet rose and one can say "lol this GAME is fun." But after a while one would have trouble (such as mouse grip) and therefore asks here in this forum.
What I was trying to say is to get the basics/foundation down before attempting hard maps. I'm just answering the question above, right?
