I'm assuming this thread is for college students, but I plan on taking studies in Music and Drama upon reaching college.

I already beat the University stage. Took software engineering though

Sciences. Geo sciences to be more specific.

I'm in my second year of university. I did computer science for the first year then recently decided it wasn't for me. So now I don't know what I want to do. Though right now I'm thinking maybe actuary science or something mathy like that.
I kinda thought there would be more mathys here >_>

Oh and I'm also doing a psych minor. Yeahhh

I just got an admittance of chemistry dept. in university :3

but theoretically I'm still a high school student, I just don't need to go to school every day to study anymore xD
Zerostarry
Planning on taking psychology.

Not sure, I'm still thinking on what I want to do which is why I've been holding back on going to College(Well... partly why).
I'm debating on Languages(Mainly Japanese, for translating purposes) and Psychology though.
Derekku
Computer/Electrical Engineering, but I'm still not 100% sure that it's what I want to do...

Currently in university, majoring in music composition with a minor in English (concentration in writing). Considering adding on a second minor in arts management. Planning on attending grad school for music composition and going back to school at some point for social psychology/music therapy.

Just need to rant for a second in the spoilerbox, because something I've noticed irritates me.
SPOILER
A lot of people I've run into basically say that people with majors in the fine and performing arts department (for those who are uneducated, it's art, theatre, and music) do absolutely no work and have no futures. While I'll say that we do barely anything that has strict black-and-white answers, we actually have hectic schedules. Replace usual examinations with performances, artwork, pieces, etc. that all have to be done within a strict timeframe. Not to mention the fact that we have to take core classes like everyone else and can't get to our homework until our mandatory rehearsals end around 9 PM every night. Aaagh.

Bitching over. Carry on.

Holy god that is so true.

Even though I'm just in high school, I am already busy with Wind Ensemble and Jazz II, and I'll be even busier when I make to jazz I, and probably oh god busy once marching season starts again. Also I want to do drama. To add to all of that, I'm taking honors english and bio, and plan on taking all honors minus Algebra II next year (I'm already ahead of most people, as sophmores should be in geometry, which I'm in right now as a freshman.)

At least I'm not in a professional drum corp like some high schoolers in my school are.
Cuddlebun
Precisely why I didn't delve deeper into the fine arts; I'm taking six AP classes as well as two extra classes (Greek and Writing) and I barely get the homework done as it is. I would have loved to have gone into art or chorus but I just didn't have the time, something I regret.

But anyway planning on going into Radiologic Sciences.

Count me in to these 2. I won't study psychology though.

psychology is a bloated career field.

A degree in Psychology isn't really useful unless you get it twice. As in, do the grad school for it so you can practice it as an overpaid applied psychologist. Well, "overpaid". It does require getting a PhD iirc

Chemistry. =p

Definitely one of the harder science fields (and I'm not pre-med), but I've heard that electrical engineering is one of the hardest.

It's kinda sad that I consider my Calc 2 class "easy" compared to my Honors Organic 2 class... ^^

*sigh...grad school.....

I study architecture.. I think fits pretty well in the Arts fields.

I just put IT 'cus that's basically what I do out of school, barring sleeping and such.

I'm not in any field-oriented system quite yet. America sux. =>

Psychology/Arts/Business Majors are a joke lol.

Oh come on, no "Music" choice?!

I'm actually IT. I don't know anything about music.

Wait until college. Take the 'little time' you have in high school and amplify that by fifty, and that's what a fine/performing arts member experiences on a day to day basis. I personally have it easy compared to other FPA majors, considering I held off on auditioning for the Shakespeare Club's show this semester and thus only have a few rehearsals a week for other ensembles, including ones I had to put together, myself (at the same time, though, I'm taking junior/senior level classes as a second semester freshman). Other people I know, such as my boyfriend (a theatre/arts management major), are taking 23 credits, have to help out with the directing class almost every week, have lead roles in several productions, and still have to finish some core requirements.

Oy, we arts majors would like to have words with you about this. People in these fields have a passion for what they do and wish to spend the rest of their lives doing it. We're setting ourselves up for a career, not a job (the difference being you actually enjoy your career). I personally can't stand the lab/office environment, and work best when expressing myself. People out there pay for the work that comes about when I express myself. Even if the pay isn't the best thing ever, I'm doing something I love, and that's truly what matters. I'd rather be lower middle class and happy than upper class and wishing my life would end because I hate my job.
also we don't go around insulting whatever the fuck anybody else does

Planning on IT, I want to be a support/network technician.

Fuck high pressure jobs, even if they are well paid.
