Where do you actually look?

There are 3 notes on the screen A B and C

1. At the note you are trying to hit (A)
2. At the note that is coming next (B)
3. At the note that is the furthest in time that you can see (C)

I'm really curious about how people actually look at the game while they are playing it.

if it's easy enough i can just look at the note im going to hit to be completely certain i hit it and go with A, typically if the map is at least worth over 120 pp im having to do it 'normally' and go with B

c if im panicking and its a 7 star shitstorm

but really you only need to look at a note long enough to know where it is and when to hit it, then you can go to the next.

On slower maps I look at A. On faster maps I look at B, C, sometimes between E and F, or back upon my life and wonder what went wrong.

Sometimes (A), sometimes I just look at the middle of the screen for the whole beatmap duration.

In my eyes:
Looking at note A and doing well means that the map is quite easy for you because you don't need to sight read a lot.
Looking at note B means that the map is either quite fast or out of your comfort zone so you need to have a slight overhead to read before hitting.
Looking at note C means that the map is over 200-220BPM is a 5.5+ star maps or it is VERY VERY hard for you to play.

I have found that looking at note C helps me hit things I am not able to hit while doing A/B. It's kind of like playing hidden for me. Although looking at note A is the most simple way of playing accurately since you actually are looking at what you are supposed to hit.

its not about needing an overhead read, but just because there's no reason to look at a note until you hit it if you already know where it is and when to hit it, you're doing yourself a favor by going ahead of it once you've determined that because you'll be less likely to stumble, it's like reading ahead of where you're speaking when reading aloud so you don't stutter, it just makes sense.

edit: wow this post of mine is pretty good. why cant all of them be this way?
