so i did some quick searching on the forums, and i didn't find anything like my request. if im wrong, please point me to the duplicate. >x<

right now, when you have something in the search bar that only brings up one beatmap and you open a new beatmap, there will be a slight pause as osu opens the new beatmap, then it will jump back to the searched for song. instead of hearing the new beatmap, which i expect, there is a sudden jump as it goes back to the searched for beatmap.

i feel this is pretty irritating, and can easily be fixed by clearing the search bar when you open a new beatmap.

Personally I prefer to have the search stays after playing the song.

At the moment I can search "Touhou" and just play through them without searching again, I'd like that to stay.

oh i see, but i have some idea about this one!

how about clear search after you back to main menu, so when you get into solo mode again, the search bar is totally clear!

That depends on how you go back to the main menu. If you already press Esc to go back to menu then it clears search by default. It'll only stay if you rely on the buttons but in that case you can just Esc to clear search anyway.
