Ok so this feature would be kinda a mixture of the two features we all know and love from Reddit and 4chan, and I think it would be really useful here on especially the Feature Request and Technical Support forums.

So basicly when anyone makes a link to another topic or post, another link is automatically created on the other side back to that post. This way everyone can easily see if a post is linked from somewhere else and go check out why.

Why is this needed? Well there are really a lot of threads in this site where people discuss similar things, but not necessarily the exact same thing, or the exact same way. Often this is dealt with linking thread1 to thread2 and possibly even sending thread1 to The Junkyard. Well now all of the content on thread1 is lost, even thou the people who are reading thread2 might be interested in what people were saying in thread1 since its about the same topic.
You get what im saying?

So anyway it should look something like this

I don't think this will work well in FR.

Duplicates are marked and sent away to avoid unnecessary bumping/staring, I don't wanna see links in the main thread pointing to tons of "expired" topics.

I kinda understand the "unnecessary bumping" argument of you post, but not entirely because even if someone does an unnecessary bumping, it will just bump it in the junkyard so it wouldn't be that real of a problem.

What I dont understand of your post is the "unnecessary staring" argument of your post. Because I think that if there are two threads discussing the same subject, the post made in the duplicate thread are just as equally important as any post made in the "correct" thread. Like why do we have these forums where everyone can contribute? Its because we want to see the contribution of everyone. And if someone adds something to a subject, its stupid that that contribution gets washed away because its not in the correct place.
Many times even the OP states why he/she personally thinks the idea is great. That is the information I think would think would be useful to know also in the "correct" thread.

Like ok, I admit I understand that sometimes people here make topics that just bluntly say what their idea is and not explain their vision how it would work, or even why they think its needed. Also too many times people just reply with worthless comments like "no", "i think the idea is nice" or "support", thinking that their opinion on is an idea good or bad is important on as big community as this, when what would be important is explaining why they think that way. Dublicate threads like that I agree would be worthless to link, but they were almost worthless in the first place even if they werent dublicates or invalids so... But that is just the culture of this forum and not my or my ideas fault. Damn I went kinda off topic.

Nah; I think it's done good enough w/o re-linking. Manual link is the best alternative.
Or, write the code as this if implemented;

If someone has important idea to add to a request, I'd rather see all those ideas in a single thread - the main thread, not the duplicates.

Same goes for the stars. Having all stars going into a single thread is a lot better than splitting them up into marked threads.

I bet that is something everyone would want. Too bad that isnt happening because people cant/wont try to find the correct thread before they post. I just try to minimize the losses that come when the above happens with this idea. People spending stars on a thread before they get marked is something i cant help with, but would people really keep splitting the stars more if a thread had link to the dublicate?

Don't underestimate the power of people not reading properly, even with a huge [Duplicate] Tag around =.=
