Mangaka apprentices and how much they've taken from thier mentor.

The most famous example is Tatsuki Fujimoto with having mentored multiple people in which most of them turned out to be a hit. And so I wanna talk about their mangas.

  1. Tatsuya Endo (Spy X Family)
It's really crazy how these 2 are pretty much like day and night. One has a gritty and dark setting while this has that same energy but tones it down a lot. I've read his other one-shot Rengoku no Ashe (Fun fact: Where Anya first came to be), and that is... Rather ok. Nothing special but was a nice read. Still yet to find and read Tista.

  1. Yukinobu Tatsu (DanDaDan)
This man took the chaos in chainsaw man, paired it up with aliens and supernaturals, and it somehow works. Perfect to just turn off your brain and enjoy it. His previous work Renai Saibaihou and others were... Uh... quite interesting (fanservice).

There's also Tooda Oto and Yuji Kaku but I haven't really read their mangas yet so no comment.

There's also my goat Sorachi Hideaki (Gintama) and he had...

  1. Kenta Shinohara (Sket Dance/Witch Watch)
As much as I like his jokes and his humor, it just kinda falls flat after some time. I read witch watch recently and I saw a lot of re-used jokes in later chapters. There's even re-used dialogs sometimes which really throws me off to think if it's a printing mistake or not. I still enjoyed both of them up to a certain point but not as much to leave an impact like Gintama did.

Tell me some other mentor-apprentice mangakas yall know.

I really don't know of any, maybe someone I enjoy was a apprentice but I just don't know, seems to mainly happen with shounens tho?

Most of the time yeah. There were some mangakas who used to do romance/magical girl stuff but I can't remember anyone anymore. Like I think Ranma 1/2 creator used to mentor some dude but not too sure...
