Po ho host your Christmas preparations, decorations, festivities, plans, experiences, and others.
Anything go ho hoes.

Me, I'm looking forward to Christmas, but only for the atmosphere, not really the gifts. We just moved, so I'm not expecting big things. I was going to ask subscription, but Ephemeral covered that for me.

I just put up a Christmas tree, decorated it, and got the little plush one from the basement up to my room. Posying pics once my DSi / camera are ready. Whichever recharges first.

Christmas time is always depressive for me. I dunno what it is, maybe the dark, cold weather I get here. Also the music is always slow and sounds gloomy rather than cheerful.

So my family tried putting the Jesusmas tree up.

They failed horribly.

They came to me for help. Turns out, there are screws at the base you slide in to connect the base to the bottom part.

They didn't take out the screws when placing the bottom.

/me sighs.

I have a Christmas avatar as well! It's cropped from an image I made back in 2004:



I actually own an official Charlie Brown Christmas tree. The fact that it exists as mass-produced merchandise is amusing to me.



Also, I found this image when digging through old Christmas pictures. I made it a couple of years ago:

Snowball fight against the other boys dorm (50 vs 50). Uncreative but it is a tradition in this school. Probably a Formal dance party at night too.

I hate Christmas season just because there is so much snow that lasts until late April/early May. The gifts make up for it, though... shoveling still sucks.

Then there's looking at all the Christmas decorations. So pretty... but I get cold walking on the way home, so I don't really take my time like I should.

So basically, I freeze while there are decorations all over the ground floor of my house.

:)

Oh, hot cocoa and sledding (though I find that the hills I like are way bigger than the one I sledded on when I was like 6. Hmm... Do need a bigger sled) are the highlights of the season in general. That, and gathering with your relatives...

...while the kids are stuffed onto one Wii while the adults gather around the big screen on the other Wii...

...playing Tiger Woods. Yay? Yes, we need 2 Wiis at Christmas time. Sue us.

His elbow symbolizes his emotions.

Linus is deep in thought. Wondering about his world, pondering the situation he's in. Also, quite simple and naive. His elbows are outreaching yet retracted and shallow.

Meanwhile, the dude is deep in depression. Having no grip on reality, and feeling very out of place. Pastes himself palely with a sorrowful outline. One elbow is deep in the coldness of the snow while the other loose representing his lack of ambition and meaning.

My dad was diagnosed with lymphoma around Christmas in '07. As many of you know, he died in '08. So my family is pretty depressed around Christmas.

Also, I work at a fucking store. I want nothing to do with Christmas.

Fun fact: Due to an advertising campaign by popular fast food chain, KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken), most native Japanese people believe westerners celebrate Christmas with Chicken. I'm serious, you can look it up.
On that note, does anyone actually have "Christmas Turkey" or "Christmas Ham," which are apparently traditional? Or, hell, "Christmas Chicken?"
I wouldn't have pointed this out, but it seems so many of you are so fascinated with the Japanese culture I thought I'd let you know.
