Insane
  • -Just general comment here, the Insane is not much harder than the Hard, with the exception of one or two jumps. I don't know how you would handle this, either make the insane harder or the Hard easier, but I guess this is just my opinion.
    - 00:40:574 (2) - pretty strong beat in the music at 00:40:993 but right now it is at the very end of this reverse slider, it feels and sounds kind of weird, what I suggest is remove 00:40:364 (2) - , move the reverse slider back to that spot, and add a circle at 00:40:993

Hard
  • - 00:04:909 (4) - should consider reducing the distance to this note. it was a 2.34 distance snap jump. something like this is good on Insane diffs, but it seems a tad overkill in Hard.
    - 00:06:588 (4) - ^
    - 00:09:105 (1,2,3,4,5) - I think soft whistles would sound better here, the current claps here overpower the music and sounds spammy. if you do change these to whistles, remove clap from 00:10:574 (6) -
    - 00:10:783 (1) - remove clap, add finish to the head of the slider.
    - 00:47:077 (3,4,5) - consider stacking these, or making it into a repeat slider, or make them flow into the 00:47:497 (6) - , as it is right now, it is awkward to play.
    - 00:51:902 (2) - this sounds kind of strange, since you are following the vocals up to this point, and there is a strong vocal at 00:52:532 that is being ignored. what I would suggest is remove the reverse from the slider, and place circles in the next red and white line.
    - 00:43:511 (3) - same here, there is a vocal being ignored at 00:43:720
    - 01:17:287 (4) - another kind of harsh jump, 2.0 DS. though I think you could get away with this since it is in the kiai, its up to you.

I have to agree to this, but that was my goal (to some extend) I wanted to map a playable, enjoyable beatmap. The other map Iam mapping is a 200 bpm streamy map - which Iam now remapping for the 4th time. I just want to get some experience in mapping. Easier maps are more enjoyable to map too.
    - 00:40:574 (2) - pretty strong beat in the music at 00:40:993 but right now it is at the very end of this reverse slider, it feels and sounds kind of weird, what I suggest is remove 00:40:364 (2) - , move the reverse slider back to that spot, and add a circle at 00:40:993 Agreed and changed. Sounds better this way.

Hard

    I tried to change the general flow so that the spacing fits. (Also, flipped the entire rest of the map for that - not that it matters)

    - 00:43:511 (3) - same here, there is a vocal being ignored at 00:43:720 Changed to a simple circle combo
    - 01:17:287 (4) - another kind of harsh jump, 2.0 DS. though I think you could get away with this since it is in the kiai, its up to you. I think thats okay since its, as you said, kiai. The pitch is veeery high aswell

  4. 01:21:273 (1,2,1,2,3,1,2,3,1) - I personally try to put more sliders towards the end so the newbie has a higher chance of SS'ing the map (I hate 1x100 circles near the end). Maybe change a few of these circles with sliders?

00:07:427 (1,2,3,4) - that's a lot of clap ._. i suggest removing/replacing with other hitsonds some of those, also they seem kinda loud for me (you can ignore that)
00:12:462 (3) - i don't like hitsounding here, i think hitsounding from 00:00:714 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) would be better
00:31:343 (1) - when i playtested it first time, i was sure there must be note (you can perfectly hear a beat). Since there's none, two next notes are kinda hard to read (atleast for easy), i suggest spacing them out so they are easier to read.
00:37:637 (1) - there's NC because it's next string in lyrics, but no hitsound here and strangely placed clap beat after (by the way i like hitsounding a lot here - 00:44:769 (1).) i also noticed other places like this one.

  2. BG is 1365x767, not 1366x768. Just a simple resize will do the job
  3. Remember to turn off widescreen support and letterbox during breaks in all difficulties
  4. I recommend changing combo color 1, it is hard to see on the bg
  5. No video?
  6. Add 這いよれ!ニャル子さん to the source, and move what is currently there to the tags
  7. Add 太陽曰く燃えよカオス to the title, keep romanised title the same


Easy


The easy is fine, although the patterns leave much to be desired
  1. OD +1 to fit the spread better
  2. 00:10:789 (1,2,3) - Check spacing to make sure it is consistent between the objects. You can go up to the top left and find the yellow text that indicates the spacing there
  3. 00:29:251 (1) - I recommend mapping out this spinner, here try this rhythm to replace it

    I say this because 00:30:929 - has a strong beat that needs to be accented by an active hitsounded object. A spinner end won't cut it. It'll be more satisfying to play and nicer to hear!
  4. 00:42:678 (3) - This object's shape seems a bit arbitrary, I suggest using a regular 3 point slider instead
  5. 01:22:957 (1,2,3) - Instead of a boring linear pattern, why not make a curve?


Normal


I feel as if there is a difficulty gap between the Easy and Normal, but I don't think that'll matter too much in lower diffs
  1. 00:00:720 (1,2,1,2) - Check the spacing and make sure it is 1.30x throughout the pattern to keep consistent with the rest of the map
  2. 00:20:440 (4) - If you do not follow my later suggestion, I would bring the anchor a bit further up the slider, and then use the later half of the slider to blanket 00:21:069 (1) -
  3. 00:20:440 (4,1) - Try this rhythm, there is a strong beat there that should be accented by an active hitsounded object

  9. 00:58:622 (3) - This red point anchored slider seems a bit random and inconsistent with the rest of the difficulty. I suggest making this a regular 3 point non-anchored slider
  10. 01:14:566 (1,2) - Have (1) blanket (2) for smoother flow and a nicer looking pattern
  11. 01:17:083 (3,4) - (3) can better blanket (4). Use (4)'s approach circle to check for this
  12. 01:21:699 (2,3,4) - Check the spacing between these, make sure that they are all 1.30x apart
  13. 01:26:314 (4) - to 394:289, so the spacing to 01:27:573 (1) - is more consistent. Also, try this slider shape, it will look nicer and flow better in to the next object


Hard


Patterns are a bit sloppy, but the rhythm is great! I see you forming some structure which is a step in the right direction. Major improvements from the last time I've seen your mapping. Keep up the work :D
  1. 00:10:789 (1,2) - Blanket can be improved, use (2)'s approach circle to check for this
  2. 00:23:377 (4,5) - There is nothing in the music that demands for this big jump, I would space it evenly and have the jump on 00:24:216 (1) -
  3. 00:29:251 (1) - Same spinner suggestions as in the earlier difficulties
  4. 00:31:349 (3,4,5) - This pattern seems pretty random, I would make some structure here
  5. 00:40:160 (4,5) - Blanket can be improved, use the (5)'s approach circle to help you in fixing this
  6. 00:47:083 (3,4,5,6,1) - Eh linear flow isn't very enjoyable, I would have these circles curve in to the next pattern!
  7. 00:56:524 (3) - Repeat does not land on any beat, I would rethink this rhythm
  8. 00:57:153 (4) - I would replace this with a circle and then a 1/2 slider starting on 00:57:363 - for a better rhythm
  9. 01:01:559 (2,3) - Blanket can be improved, use (3)'s approach circle to assist you in this
  10. 01:07:013 (3,1,2) - Make sure (1)'s approach circle meets the slider tracks all the way around evenly so the blanket is perfect
  11. 01:13:726 (3,1,2) - I like this pattern that you have going here! Although one gripe i have with this is the strong hitsound on a passive object (the repeat). 01:14:985 (2) - 125:232 so that it perfectly stacks underneath 01:13:726 (3) - 's repeat
  12. 01:15:824 (4,1) - Blanket can be improved

Patterns need some work, but other than that, fine insane for your first beatmap for rank!
  1. 00:04:496 (2,3,5,6) - Space out these anti-jumps, they are hard to read and play in such a low bpm song, especially since you space out the notes in the upcoming pattern, and then have 1/4 doubles on the ends of sliders!
  2. 00:10:370 (8,1) - Try this rhythm, reason being it sounds and plays better + the strong beat will be accented by an active hitsounded object
  3. 00:24:216 (1,2,3) - Make sure the blanket is perfect all the way around
  4. 00:27:573 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3) - Excellent pattern! Very fun and I love your use of hitcircles here
  5. 00:29:356 (1) - Why ruin the buildup you had with the previous pattern? Map this out!
  6. 00:30:929 (3,2) - Blanket can be improved
  7. 00:39:950 (4,2) - I am afraid this is unrankable. 00:39:531 (2,4) - 's hitburst cover the repeat of 00:40:370 (2) - . This must be fixed.
  8. 00:51:069 (1,2) - (Nazi) Blanket can be improved. It tails off at the end
  9. 00:52:957 (1,2) - Blanket can be improved
  10. 01:27:573 (2) - I would have this be a jump so that the end is accentuated nicely. It provides for a cool finish

Needs a bit more modding before this set can go anywhere, but it has potential. Good luck!

The easy is fine, although the patterns leave much to be desired Easy's not the best thing to map for me, so I'll agree on this one
  1. OD +1 to fit the spread better changed
  2. 00:10:789 (1,2,3) - Check spacing to make sure it is consistent between the objects. You can go up to the top left and find the yellow text that indicates the spacing there
  3. 00:29:251 (1) - I recommend mapping out this spinner, here try this rhythm to replace it

    I say this because 00:30:929 - has a strong beat that needs to be accented by an active hitsounded object. A spinner end won't cut it. It'll be more satisfying to play and nicer to hear! changed, true dat
  4. 00:42:678 (3) - This object's shape seems a bit arbitrary, I suggest using a regular 3 point slider instead i'll leave that for now, might change it if I get more opinions on this (I like weirdly shaped sliders)
  5. 01:22:957 (1,2,3) - Instead of a boring linear pattern, why not make a curve? is now a curve


Normal


I feel as if there is a difficulty gap between the Easy and Normal, but I don't think that'll matter too much in lower diffs
  1. 00:00:720 (1,2,1,2) - Check the spacing and make sure it is 1.30x throughout the pattern to keep consistent with the rest of the map I thought Ive changed that. changed now for sure
  2. 00:20:440 (4) - If you do not follow my later suggestion, I would bring the anchor a bit further up the slider, and then use the later half of the slider to blanket 00:21:069 (1) - moved it a little bit after all
  3. 00:20:440 (4,1) - Try this rhythm, there is a strong beat there that should be accented by an active hitsounded object

  10. 01:14:566 (1,2) - Have (1) blanket (2) for smoother flow and a nicer looking pattern I cant really get a good looking pattern out of this without destroying the rest of the map. I've mapped this as some kind of linear divebomb, if that makes sense
  11. 01:17:083 (3,4) - (3) can better blanket (4). Use (4)'s approach circle to check for this changed slightly
  12. 01:21:699 (2,3,4) - Check the spacing between these, make sure that they are all 1.30x apart changed
  13. 01:26:314 (4) - to 394:289, so the spacing to 01:27:573 (1) - is more consistent. Also, try this slider shape, it will look nicer and flow better in to the next object agreed, changed


Hard


Patterns are a bit sloppy, but the rhythm is great! I see you forming some structure which is a step in the right direction. Major improvements from the last time I've seen your mapping. Keep up the work :D thanks :3 workin' on it

  4. 00:31:349 (3,4,5) - This pattern seems pretty random, I would make some structure here I wanted to have the 3 blanket 4, while 5 is the same slider as 4 but flipped (since its the same vocal). Makes sense in my head atleast
  5. 00:40:160 (4,5) - Blanket can be improved, use the (5)'s approach circle to help you in fixing this yep
  6. 00:47:083 (3,4,5,6,1) - Eh linear flow isn't very enjoyable, I would have these circles curve in to the next pattern! tried something

  5. 00:20:859 - I recommend adding a circle here. This will prevent people from trying to hit the vocals which you don't follow for the next slider.

  7. 00:25:894 (2) - Nazi. Move this to x384 y124 (grid/distance snap on will help) for slightly better flow with the previous and also the upcoming note.

You can mostly tell by clicking on any (2), the distance spacing isn't consistent between all of these. You should balance the first (1,2,3) how you like, and then copy / paste / rotate slightly, and put them a specific distance apart, however you like. I just highly suggest the copy pasting thing if all possible. Keep your rotations consistent as well if you do them (like 10° or 20° each time
  5. 00:46:244 (1) - Same thing as hard, nudge the red node so it properly snugs the ball in.

Ill change it. clarification: i rotate them by selection center. since its not a perfect triangle, the 2 wont rotate as much as the others

and it will bring up a screen like this: Click the arrows, and you've got the 1 pixel movement you wanted. (Though I would prefer keyboard controls for something simple as this)

I thought I mentioned this somewhere in the mod, but after looking over it, I didn't oops. I didn't know about this for over a year after I started mapping. lol

Anyways, good luck. Hopefully what I said above can be useful in the future for you, as I know the pain of trying to move something exactly to a certain coordinate too XD

  1. gonna need to add some sort of audio lead-in since there's less than a second of silence before the map starts. i'd put 1232 so you'd have 2 seconds of prep time over all difficulties. anything lower would be inconsistent because of approach rate differences. (see line 5 in any .osu file if confused)

Insane

  1. 00:03:495 (6,7,8) - i think it would be best to stack these. you have 00:04:544 (2,3) - and 00:05:383 (5,6) - with the same spacing yet different rhythm, so it is kind of weird. you stacked the same rhythm at 00:10:208 (6,7,8) - so consistency bs yeah
  2. 00:07:272 (6) - not stacked exactly under 4
  3. 00:21:747 (3,4) - should be combined into a 3/4 slider instead of what you have now considering you did that the other times that appeared in the music

  2. 00:10:837 (1) - i'd replace the head on this with a finish since that's how you introduce new phrases elsewhere in the map
  3. 00:42:726 (3) - going by your pattern, this should have whistles on head/reverse and finish on tail.
  4. 00:46:502 (3,4) - the gap inbetween these feels really awkward rhythm wise. i get that the vocals are on offbeats and it's hard to map, but silence isn't great either :P
  5. 01:06:222 (3,1) - should have the same curve. looks weird as it is. (symmetrical may be good too)

  2. 00:15:033 (1) - ^you are. for all of the sections like this on the hard diff, you've got the full slider with the "whistle" slider sound. as i already said, it's barely noticeable, but insane doesn't have it so i'd choose to have it on either both or none. if you don't know what i'm talking about, play with hitsound volume twice as loud as music volume (which is what i'm using while modding). it's not like it's a big deal to have them, but they are a pretty annoying noise to hear when focusing on hitsounds.
  3. 00:17:551 - i think there should be a note here. each time after this soft phrase thing, you've placed a loud finish afterwards to indicate the start of louder stuff. see 00:24:264 (1) - 00:37:691 (1) - 00:44:404 (1) - . all the other times when it's going from loud phrase to soft phrase you have that gap, and since this isn't that, you dont wanna do that double reasoning changeitgoddamnit
  4. 00:25:733 (4) - most nazi thing ever pointed out: this isn't perfectly linear
  5. 00:30:977 (1,1) - not really sure the new combo thing fits here as well as it does on insane. on insane you've got notes before the barline, so the combo-ing makes sense, while on hard you've got the NC on the barline, so it isn't really needed.

I think 1.3x DS is a little too much for a Normal diff. 1.1-1.2x at most. But it should be fine I guess

Thanks :3 I'll apply some mods later as Iam currently thinking about remapping one or two diffs (normal/insane) as they're old and dont fit to my style atm. Depending on if i do so or not, I'll update the mod here :3
